I have always felt that in adding the 6th gear they just made all the ratios a little shorter. My old 5-speed maxima probably was revving lower in 5th than my brz or wranger are in 6th. I want the old 5 speed ratios but with a super tall 6th, so tall I literally cant use it anywhere but the highway.

My best solution to this has always been to put the socket in a vice, set the torque wrench correctly, and then give it a couple pushes till you get the click. I traded my BRZ for a Wrangler and then put armor on it. It still gets bumped but I feel way better about that knowing that everytime it happens my steel does more damage to their plastic.
