I know this is a joke but imagine a huge slot car track. I think that would be bad ass. Or on the long straights there is a slot car style rail that charges super capacitors that are then used to run the rest of the twisties. The added benefit is that it encourages advancements in quick charging tech.

Yeah but things in the city are never really all that far away. They make way worse highway cars than city cars. Loud noisy and the aero of a brick on the highway.
