I don’t consider Kanye’s interruption to be one of sexism, but one of narcissism. He truly believed (believes) his words and point of view are more important than everyone else’s.

Totally agree with the first half.

I agree with everything you wrote here, just saying. It feels really good to be in a group of people who build one another up. It’s also necessary to take risks to be creative, and it can stop you dead in your tracks if you are around the sort of people who want to ridicule or pull you down. Sometimes I think women do

I really don’t think anyone is attacking her for being smart. Also, these emails aren’t really that smart (if the above is any indication). Here’s the thing- she can and should write whatever she wants to whoever she wants, and if they have an intellectually stimulating exchange, that’s awesome. But to assume that

OH GOD so we’re having a little bit of a laugh at their expense. Can we retire the word “shaming” yet?

They’re more fortunate than special, and if they realized this they’d be a lot more humble.

About as petty and stupid as publishing your “intellectual” ramblings so other people can appreciate how smart you are. Pretentiousness is pretentiousness. I’m not going to apologize for pointing it out when I see it.

I grab my own breasts when walking around the house. They’re soft. I feel you orangutang.

You know what the best part of that is? The people who were AGAINST the inclusive anthem change because “tradition” are totally the same people screaming all lives matter. This must confuse them so much.

Because Black Lives Matter is a significant issue in Canada, too. Perhaps you didn’t hear about it, but Black Lives Matter was an honoured group at Pride 2016 in Toronto earlier this month, and they used their platform to peacefully halt the parade with a sit-in and protest for half an hour. It was kind of a big deal.

Okay, first off, BLM exists in Canada. As it should, because Black people exist here, as does racism. We have lots of similar problems around policing and racial profiling and all that horrible jazz. Bigotry doesn’t evaporate at the border, as much as we wish it did, because that would be very helpful. Nevertheless,

Wow. Did he forget where he is?

Oh my fucking God I'm crying. MO's face and even Laura's are fucking gold. Jesus christ he's worse than my fucking 5 year old. Oh God. Oh if I ever stop laughing at this it's because I've died

Still, saying a Canadian delivered a really good apology is like saying they make the best pasta in Italy or an Australian deals with heat pretty well.

We’re not exactly lacking for racial issues in Canada.

YES! Laura is like “motherfucker be solemn this is not the time for games”

Now playing

Also a fan of the side eyes Bush was getting at the funeral yesterday, all the way down the line.

That is how you issue an apology. None of this "I am sorry if you got offended" bullshit, just straight up "This was wrong, we are upset, please accept our apology and we will remove this guy."

A brilliant use of technology and I hope it helps get these stories to an even bigger audience. Bravo to the filmmakers and everyone who was willing to step forward and share their stories.

I am married to an Indian survivor, a MAN, who was raped by his mother for nearly a decade. The shroud of privilege and silence that plagues my husband is nearly deafening. Let’s not forget about these male victims. Without a doubt the majority of victims world wide are female, but we must ALL climb to the top of the
