And here I thought that 90% of these “leaks” were intentionally perpetrated by the PR departments of aforementioned automakers.

I also never block people for 2 reasons, 1) It’s dangerous, and 2) could be an emergency. My brother in law was an undiagnosed diabetic and nearly died on a road trip - heart stopped and everything. His dad drove like a maniac the last couple of miles to a hospital and he had to be resuscitated.

I’ve ridden in a taxi in the US once in the past decade. I needed an 8 mile ride to the airport with wife and 2 year old. Called major cab company, everyone’s heard of them. Taxi shows up on time, after that the problems start. Cab looks pretty beat up, surprise. Cab absolutely reeks of cigarettes. Trunk loaded

Resisting the urge to explain to that person who just bought a new Camry that they could have purchased (insert heavily depreciated badass car here) instead.

Yes, “legally obligated to defend them” is a bit strong. We did “guarantee their security” and some other stuff, but it does become a bit murky once you try to pin down exactly what the Budapest Memorandum means in regards to what actions can/should be taken. Maybe that was intentional?

We’re talking 70's era communist bloc vehicle. That said, I cannot confirm that the car was actually “destroyed”. Just repeating the story...

Fifty percent according to the completely legit and definitely not fake Russian sponsored survey. Too bad surveys don’t set a legal precedence for invasion of a sovereign nation.

My wife just told me a story this weekend. When she was in high school, her boyfriend cheated on her. The guy that drove the boyfriend to the rendezvous got the sugar in the tank, destroyed his car.

Genius....

Was driving home from work, wife in the front seat. Sitting at a stop light, there was a brand new Mustang GT in front of us who was in LOOOOOOVE with his go pedal. Gave us full exhaust for a solid minute, then proceeded to rubber band the stop light, nearly causing me to miss the light.

I would choose this ANY DAY over a blown 996 - and I happen to like the 996.

If you want public money, then ALL pertinent records should be open to the public.

Dude, I used to play car tag too! We didn’t have the 45mph minimum though.

I’d advise going for something like this: 2014 Nissan Leaf. Under 30,000 miles, you get the upgraded “lizard” battery, cheap as hell to fuel, should be next to nothing in maintenance. Payments around $100/month. He has a partner, so she likely has a gas-burner for long distances. And less chance of a surprise

Sporty, safe, reliable, 4wd, doesn’t look like typical high-schooler car. You need a 2006 Infiniti G35x. Only 82,000 miles, could probably get it out the door for $8,000. Thank me later.

Good luck on the jeep, I really hope you get it finished. That being said, you should really, really, invest in a Parts Cleaner. Used to work for the Forest Service and we had one of these for cleaning chainsaws. I promise this will be the best $100 you ever spend in your life.

It actually worked pretty well if you define “worked” as helping to weaken the Russians. It was the “after” part that the U.S. failed to get right, and continues to screw up to this day. We’re great at collapsing regimes, not so great at dealing with the aftermath. Didn’t you watch “Charlie Wilson’s War”?

If your friend uses rideshare exclusively, he probably wasn’t driving that much to begin with.

I am privy to some technical info about this car. Engineers are considering a few more weights saving measures.

I’m not too far from you, in Louisiana. I wouldn’t dare walk/bike to the park a mile down the street. Some friends of mine tried one evening and the police picked them up and drove them back home, said it was too dangerous.
