I seem to recall a time in this nation’s history when medical workers could get away with refusing to treat AIDS patients... and I thought we’d determined, as a society, that that is some bullshit.

If your religious or “moral” views prevent you from providing service to a patient who doesn’t fit within your moral framework, you (1) have really shitty religious/“moral” beliefs and (2) should find a line of work that doesn’t require you to come into contact with people you find morally objectionable.

Am I the only one who absolutely hates historical dramas with rock/metal soundtracks? I’m looking at you, Harlots. Ugh. It’s trying to hard to appeal to a young audience. Will no one watch a historical drama without a pounding discordant bass? Why not have a little faith in your viewer and create a more

Because the point they’re making is precisely how religious privilege is allowed to contravene civil rights in the USA.

Their proposal for an after school program was inspired. Also, their campaigning for pro choice- making abortion a religious right for their church members- was also inspired. I’d happily marry the entire Satanic Temple too. My husband wouldn’t even mind- he’s an escapee from Pentacostalism.

Satanic Temple makes me happy. I love smart, clever people.

OMG!!!! Thank you for the big guns!

I am constantly harassed at work, I have to take it, ignore it and move on because I have kids and I have to feed them.

“The majority of women in the workplace are not tender creatures and are largely adept at dealing with all varieties of uncomfortable or hostile situations,” Roiphe wrote in the New York Timesin 2011. “Show me a smart, competent young professional woman who is utterly derailed by a verbal unwanted sexual advance or

I think outing herself was Donegan’s way of regaining control. Imagining what drove her to create that list in the first place, I doubt there’s nothing left else that she’s afraid of.

The most frustrating thing is you can *see* the bones of a much better show there. I’m glad they got the renewal since I think there is a chance they can learn from this season and tighten things up - but I’m honestly surprised they got the green light for one after that finale.
