For $74K I’d pick up a fully sorted classic Porsche 911 (anything pre-1998) and be done with it. Better still, this 911 will retain most of its value years later when I’m ready to sell.

To be fair, there are plenty of people for whom hand washing isn’t always an option.

That’s really dumb advice. I buy most of my cars, but leasing is a great option in certain circumstances. For example: During end of year closeouts, they often inflate residuals to move cars.
