I'm so, so sorry.
I'm so, so sorry.
I remember the first time I apologized on the internet. It was here, on the AV Club about 5 years ago. I was in a bad mood and being a total asshole to someone who loved Donny Darko.
Just as men will put up with a whole lot more shit from a terrible person who happens to be a really, really attractive woman.
There's been more work done to suggest WHY Leela loves Fry than HOW she loves him, which is actually a great way to keep their relationship from being a sitcom-writers trap. 99.999% of it happened off-screen, so they didn't have to portray them as a loving couple- only suggest it- which makes it much easier to…
Yup. Laughed at that more than any other joke this season. Who knew?
Wait, when were we supposed to start expecting any semblance of continuity from Futurama, with the story-line appropriate exception of Fry and Leela's relationship or Fry's dealing with the emotional fallout from being transported 1,000 years into the future?
Hey, back when Dr. Z's parents had no money whatsoever until he was 5, he lived in Teaneck. As did The Notorious B.I.G. before he moved outta his mom's place and got into the Crack game in Brooklyn. I see many similarities between our "straight outta Teaneck" upbringings.
It is. Bergen, Passaic and Sussex county are the North-iest of the North Jersey counties. The data is skewed in Bergen and Passaic by a few high-population cities- Paterson, parts of Hackensack and Englewood- but the closer you get to the Rockland and Orange County NY borders, the more Jersey becomes a sprawl of…
The hatred everyone has for Zoidberg is what makes the character so funny in the first place.
Hey, I avoided Jersey scum like the Plague for the 6 years I lived in Manhattan- even though I myself am Jersey scum. It involves never going out in Midtown or Meatpacking during the week, and staying home completely on the weekends.
See above. I lived in Manhattan for enough years to know that living in Manhattan carries with it a level of temporary insanity about what "real-living" is and the living conditions you're willing to accept. Futurama has ALWAYS made jokes about "The Manhattan Complex", which may not have been 100% apparent to all…
Keep going farther North, past NYC. That's where Jersey becomes a place worth living. Incidentally, that's where your friendly neighborhood Zoidberg grew up- most South Jersey folk never come up to Bergen County, but us Bergen County folk sure head down to crappy South Jersey in the summer for the beach- and…
@avclub-a9ab29b18796823dd9be52a3f74c1459:disqus Half the jokes the show ever did (I can't believe I'm once again using the past tense to talk about the show my avatar comes from! *Zoidberg Sobbing*) were about Fry saying and doing things so incredibly dumb that they jumped right past the suspension of disbelief filter…
Who's up for a rousing game of Gauc-a-Mole?

Best thing about Spotify is you can stalk old roommates music listening habits on the live feed.
This news is 5 pounds of shit in a 10 pound fuck
Just burned through myself. Fantastic show. Not going to spoil anything for anyone, so I'll stop with any analysis, but I will say David Tenant is incredible in the role (really separated himself from his turn as Dr. Who here), and the show, of course, is loaded with red herrings, but natural ones.

Yes, I'm not quite sure Mr. Dowd punctured through the very thin layers of metaphor in the proper way with District 9. I expect more from AV Club criticism.
