They're not perfect. And in fact they're kind of getting worse. At least, I'm noticing strong Americanization in the Netherlands over the past few decades with utilities/services (healthcare, phone, water/gas/light, public transport) becoming increasingly privatized. Oh and there's that whole E.U. thing which is

Compared to Europe/Asia.

With dichotomical thinking like that, who needs further reasoning?

You're aware that the majority of internet data gets routed through the US at some point, right? And don't forget that you're probably using a lot of U.S. located websites such as Kotaku, youtube, facebook, netflix, spotify, steam...

"If you show them that there's the threat of them not getting reelected they'll backpedal"

Democracy is an incredibly pliable word.

The spider is weird, yes, and I really hope it's not a core/required part of the game. But there is less shooting in this video than there is in the 10 minute one. Would you have preferred to see him walk up some stairs to the roof, first?

I was wondering what that weird floaty triangle was. Now I at least know why it's there.

The biggest giveaway are the incredibly stable swooping flying shots. Those camera movements just aren't real. So that 'breaks' about half of the footage already. And there are not enough imperfections. Both in terms of the models lacking ever so slight dirt buildup etc, and in terms of there being missing secondary

I like how they mimicked salticidae movements. They're the cutest spiders on the block.

It's not about variety. It's about game developers taking more and more of an everything-including-the-kitchen-sink approach. Which means the game is less focused and has less of its own identity. Want more variety? Add more hackable things and ways for systems to interact.

It takes a considerable amount of effort to make a demo build of any game. But you can save some time if you have levels in your games, so you can have players just play the first 15 minutes of a game, or only have 1 deathmatch map or something. But in an open world game, you can't really go and chop off parts of the

Does that matter much? The entirety of SR4 was in some sort of alien-fabricated digital world. And of course, with both games being kind of meta (game in a game) it's still just nonsense in a game.

Now playing

Yeah because there wasn't any shooting in the original trailer 2 years ago. Especially not at the 7:00 minute mark.

Doesn't want to receive but does want to call others? Reminds me of elementary school pricks saying "no punchback!". Your husband sounds weird.

Sortie means exit.

While that would save you from drowning for a bit, it wouldn't prevent hypothermia or starvation. Life preservers are there to give the ship time to stop/turn and send out a small rescue sloop. But clearly the other guy doesn't know how to boat anyway.

Yeah I'm with you. As simple as the concept is and how little can be done with it, this is a pretty good execution. From pacing to technicalities to atmosphere to message, a solidly made viral minigame.

Well yeah, but how many people would stick around scrolling for several full hours? Games and movies tend to be time-condensed media.

A pager? Seriously?
