No you don't. You make minimum wage. Companies are allowed to pay you less if whatever they want to pay you plus your tips equals or exceeds minimum wage. If you including tips make less that minimum wage, your company has to pay the deficit to ensure you end up with at least minimum wage.

It's also extremely rare they get NO wage. They get shitty wage which is supposedly compensated by tips, but they get some amount of fixed hourly pay.
