One thing none of those shows has is the narcissism of Seth MacFarlane. As long as he remains in front of the camera the show will never be more than mediocre. (It also doesn’t help that most of the other characters are 2D tropes or ciphers)

OK. Step back and think: How does this compare to a random episode of Enterprise? Voyager? DS9? It’s cheap generic shit.

Only because it’s oddly still applicable. MacFarlane hasn’t exactly aged well.

Some train wrecks you can’t just look away from. The show also has potential to not suck so bad if MacFarlane steps out of limelight and maybe if they hired some competent design and SFX people.

I have not yet decided if the show is purposely terrible by playing homage to how bad the early seasons of ST:TNG were or it’s just another turd sandwich brought to you by Seth MacFarlane’s team of humorless manatees.
