As time capsule soundtracks go, it’s very solid. Saying it has Type O Negative and Korn makes it sound like one thing, saying it has Our Lady Peace and Southern Culture on the Skids makes it sound like a completely different thing, and it's all of those things.

“I never thought leopards would eat MY face!” exclaimed the woman who voted for the Leopards Eating Faces policital party.

The original linked article is really good. This is where my extended family live (Springfield/Joplin area). It’s not surprising to me that the woman describes herself as Christian and prolife, and then was surprised that she struggled to get care for a miscarriage/medical emergency, that a Christian crisis pregnancy

Anyone magnanimous enough to apologize to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned from anywhere.

McNally now just comes off as petty and bitchy whereas it sounded like he was standing up for his staff when he first put the ban in place. There’s not much to gain by unbanning Corden. If anything, he’s the head on a pike that warns future customers to behave civilly to his staff. Plenty of rich customers out there,

I don’t understand this resolution at all. The owner went nuclear on Corden and called him out publicly, so Corden looks bad (continues to!). But then all it takes is Corden to say “I’m sowwy” and apparently abusive behavior to the staff is forgiven? Why would you want that back? Does Corden have that many devoted

We watched this over the weekend in a single push and, overall, liked it. There were some pacing issues, but I’m not familiar enough with the entire lore to have been bothered with any changes to the source material. The Peter Jackson movies are all I had to go on.

Loved Knives Out, can’t wait for Glass Onion, but honestly, so far the most interesting thing about the character of Blanc is the meta question of who’s playing his partner. “Rian Johnson Mystery” is the selling point for me, not Benoit Blanc. I am hopeful that this movie changes that.

It was a comment based on the fact that Tig Notaro was digitally placed into a film (“Army of the Dead”) to replace an actor (Chris D’Elia) who had been accused of sexual misconduct. Know your pop culture, dingus.

Digitally replace Bill Murray with Tig Notaro.
Hell, do it for every movie he has ever made.

I speak from personal experience when I say, the average voice actor is just as talented as a normal actor, they USUALLY tend to be more humble and kind, and they put in all the effort.  4000 dollars for an entire video game performance is beyond insulting.  Voice actors deserve better.

Further into Tunic, have reached the first dungeon. The game is fun in terms of figuring out where to go next, there’s always somewhere I haven’t quite explored, but it’s also one of those games where they decided combat has to be A Big Deal every time. By which I mean there’s a blocking system and blocking uses

I mean, it’s very clearly a rap song. Not a particularly good one in my opinion, though I doubt 40something white guys are her target demographic.

saw American Movie when i was 15 in 1999, at a cinema only showing it once. the documentary is nothing without him xxx

Damn. You can’t watch that movie without coming away with the impression that this was a guy who’d faced a lot of troubles but was now trying his best to come out of it with positivity and a genuine desire to help his friends.

Or - and hear me out - kids just thought it was funny? I don’t think most of the hate came from adults, but teenagers discovering how to be edgy.

tj miller puzzled as to why everyone is giving him the attention he was begging for

(kind of gratuitously violent at the end, but hey)
