I get what you’re saying, but there will always be those that comb over things like this.
The “you never saw a body” rule applies beyond superhero shows. Crime shows, horror, pretty much any narrative that hinges on any element of mystery, has to show you a dead body or all bets are off.
Ha yep that might do it!
1) He’s obviously not dead. This is a superhero TV show and they didn’t show a body. (2) Things were left unresolved so that people would tune in for Echo, a show that Disney probably has to work a little harder to get people to watch since it is not about one of the Avengers. (3) How much of Daredevil remains canon…
I smoke a bowl and drink a beer during every single Hawkeye show and I didn’t forget about it...
I believe that D’Onofrio is playing coy as to his future appearances. I expect he has a pretty good idea on what is going to happen.
I’ve appreciated Handlen’s Discovery reviews. They remind me of “classic” A.V. Club - in depth, and actually critical. Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of the folks still watching this show would prefer fanboy patter.
The world of John Wick has gotten increasingly more stylized since the original. There’s not much more to it than that.
He had multiple HR complaints over multiple years. He knew explicitly that people did not like the behavior and kept doing it anyway.
Yeah, he did something wrong.
He’s also producing shows with plot lines like “Japanese people are uptight about cultural norms” and “fat guy steals food and falls through roof” in 2021, so I’m guessing cultural sensitivity isn’t high up on the list of core values for Curb’s cast and crew.
He didn’t actually do anything wrong
Big difference between being the star and being a guest/side player. As a star, I imagine one becomes accustomed to people giving you free space to be you.
Is it a reasonable expectation to never be made “uncomfortable” at a job that lasts nine years?
Yeah this doesn’t seem like the kind of controversy that’s similar to the actor who was fired on the Expanse or Chrish Noah level. It seems more like just bad behavior while on the clock. Too many complaints from too many people over the years. Warnings weren’t working. Training didn’t work. The showrunners knew he…
a brief montage shows many of them dying of snake bites, wild dog attacks, and getting sick from contaminated water.
Yeah, Metrons, Caretakers, surviving members of the Iconian empire (whaaa?), and the Q (who haven’t appeared for 600 years?).
- There’s been a low-key runner this season about the Sphere data, an artificial intelligence merged with Discovery’s operating system, and its developing personality. I expect that’s going someplace, but no idea where just yet.
I find it funny how this article and this comment says several post-credits scenes are retconned... but they’re not. There’s new context, and newer (& more important) info, but nothing was retconned...
Nice touch on having starships Janeway and T’Pau in the air. Especially the T’Pau one. Brings a lot of heart and soul to the series, and don’t you make me beg for more. :D
