That sounds in the same territory as the Thelonious Funk mentioned elsewhere. But I'm glad to make the acquaintance (via Spotify) of the original Mr. Kirk, whom I hadn't heard of before — that is some funky fluting. (Domino, 1963.)

Trekkie alert: there was an idea once that Star Trek: The Next Generation's William T. Riker should have the middle name Thelonious, in recognition of the character's jazz leanings (and to chime somewhat with James Kirk being middle-named "Tiberius"). I remember seeing that in a novel or comic — something non-canon

No Terminator: Exodys?

Admittedly not. It was something that seemed to make logical sense if one assumes the roots are "flame" and "inflame". Just proposing a potential explanation for the apparent incongruity in language — not that it's a practical distinction that anyone would really use.

"Flammable" means something that catches fire easily (i.e. that flames easily), while "inflammable" means something that is easily caught on fire (i.e. is inflamed easily) by something else.

You lured me to Sanderson's website with the progress tracker. I also like the sheer optimism expressed in the menu option "Games & Movies" (which lists one selection, an adventure game).

What I would want out of any Heston biography is a sense of how the same man, the "square" described

You can get a great sense of Heston's acting ability by watching him interact with the other two astronaut actors in Apes, Robert Gunner and Jeff Burton. I'm sure they were fine men, but as actors, Gunner and Burton were wooden nobodies. Heston is a bit hammy, yes, but with every line, he acts circles around the

The excitement dies down a bit in the sequel series, Tom Corbett, Pennsylvania Governor.

Please tell me that was a deliberate reference to "Your Move" by Yes. Otherwise I've thrown away my opportunity to make an in-joke for nothing.

Surely you're aware of Jeff Lynne's new hip-hop project Uncle TupacELO.

He means he's going to point at her and then give her the OK sign.

I'm not really a fan of the New Super-Man book or much else current comics, but I am fascinated by how Yang and Tan are bringing back Ching Lung, one of DC's very earliest characters and a striking example of 1930s anti-Asian racism in comics and culture that was sadly just the tip of the iceberg.

This article rated "MO" for Mourning (Robert) Osborne.

Call me when John Constantine meets the Harlem Globetrotters.

Stand-up comic: Hey, remember these? (holds up red DVD-sized envelope)
Audience: (erupts in belly laughter)

"I am one who knocks, yes?"
"But Boris dahlink, door has doorbell."

And all of Big Audio Dynamite's Tighten Up Vol. 88.
