I totally remember this! Does that mean it was a great commercial (i.e. it made such an impact that I remember it over a decade later) or a terrible one (despite the impact I never bought the game)?

@Greg Krynen: Don't forget squirrels. Those sneaky bastards are always causing trouble.

@Sheccid: Yep, as long as I still had data. I make most of my calls from Google Voice anyway. The 100 minutes would only be needed in emergencies when I wasn't on 3G or WiFi.

@MaliciousH: I'm guessing here, but I don't think that fat storage will change much. Normal salmon eat a lot during the summer so they can grow and store fat for the winter. During winter they stop growing to conserve energy, and burn their stored fat to keep warm. These GM salmon never need to do that, so they are

I was just thinking how useful an app like this would be, without paying for Tasker.

If someone could incorporate this into my motorcycle helmet as a HUD, that would be great.

Um, yeah. I already balk at paying $12 for a movie ticket, without even considering the extra outlay for popcorn etc. There's no way I'm going to pay $20-30 to watch a bunch of cutscenes that I've already seen during gameplay.

@cycle-ops: That's the reason my old Nokia from 2001 is still my backup emergency phone. It hangs out in my go-pack, and I know it will work just as well in ten years from now as it did when it was shiny and new.

@W10002: Seriously. I don't know what sites he was visiting 15 years ago, but I sure can't remember little things like embedded video everywhere you went.

@archronos: Don't bother unless it's a big event with a lot of swag being given away. I did the H3 midnight launch at my local GS and it was okay but I wouldn't repeat it. Had I gone across town to the big launch party at the GS at Universal Studios, I'd have scored all kinds of swag - my friends got t-shirts and all

@TERROR-HORROR: I will follow the same strategy that I used for both Halo 3 and ODST: Finish the campaign on Legendary first, then head into Matchmaking. No 12 year old squeakers spoiling the plot for me.

@Kovitlac: I agree. I don't mind paying for DLC for my games as long as it's good quality and worth my time and money, but themes and stuff are a different ball game.

@JT_3K: I have a Roomba and it does occasionally have a problem with my flat living room rug.

Another good reason never to get sand in your Vaseline.

Shame they're just dumping billions into this, rather than billions and billions.

@lostarchitect: Agreed on all points. I took one look at this thing and wondered why the hell I'd want my bike in my tent with me, and how long I'd have to wait before my engine wouldn't set the damn thing on fire.

I've been using Skype to call home to the UK from the US up until recently. I've been using XDAndroid for a couple of months now, and I love it. The GV integration is awesome, and I can now make international calls without being tethered to my laptop - it rocks! Thus, I've been using Skype less and less.

@Jonn: They bring new meaning to "love handles", that's for sure.

Perhaps EA has every intention of making WinPho7 games but wants to make a separate announcement with a lot of self-aggrandizing hooplah?

I'd be much more interested if instead of a kid it was Cortana and was voiced by Jen Taylor.
