It’s this weird fixation on short-term gains and this reluctance to understand that lots of what we do, see, and interact with everyday is interconnected.

“Persecution.”
Religion is like a dick. As the proud owner of one, I’m glad I have it. Mrs. Cap and I have a grand ol’ time with it. It’s a part of our daily lives. It’s not something I discuss much in public. But most importantly, I don’t go forcing it on people.
Because universal healthcare is socialism, apparently. But considering that they think abstinence-only sex education isn’t the Maginot Line of birth control, it’s not like they’d get it.
Too bad logic doesn’t work here. They’re really intent on saying that any clump of cells is a “person.” Then again, many of their ilk probably think a corporation is also a “person” so...
I try not to do pre-order/purchases on games period. It’s all for the same reason - QC.
That’s the only not-fuck-this-guy-with-a-spear explanation as to why he made those comments in that meeting.
Meanwhile, there’s always the stack of Sonic games no one wanted.
I’d love to have switched bodies with that server. I would’ve walked past them to their car and smashed the window open to get the dog out.
“I was carrying it for a friend.”
“Whether he was at the clinic to cause harm is still unclear to authorities.” Luckily, possession will be enough to lock him up. He could have wanted to use these items at the clinic or at his local Gamestop, but intent to harm someone, somewhere is pretty clear. And the danger of carrying explosives is pretty damn…
I recently drove through Ohio/Ill/NY on the way up to Toronto this summer. I live in Texas, so rusted out cars aren’t something we see often - partially because of road conditions not really causing it and because inspection rules are stiff here.
I get that itch. I hate moving, but I also feel weird if I’m in a single job for too long. Go figure.
Similar to my fear of suburbia. You go to the housing areas of almost any base, and while the houses might all look the same, the stuff up front, the cars, and the people all look a little different at least. If you look at the neighborhoods of the off-base folks, it’s the same way, even in neighborhoods where you…
Actually, that’s a pretty good description of my speech. Not just accent, but word choice as well. Very interesting to see that linguists have picked this up. Thanks for that comment!
Any brats have intersting accents - or in my case - almost the complete lack of one?
Similar story here. Did JROTC, pushed for academies and military schools, did ROTC *(up until the point of contract signing)* and then stopped. It’s weird, not because I ended up going into design (it was either be a designer, go into combat aviation, or just man a desk on a base somewhere), but because like you, I’m…
There tends to be interest, it’s just a matter of how it’s handled. To an extent, brats get some of the culture of their parents’ branch in their blood. It’s all a matter of how they react.
Something about how it’s different when it’s in the realm of marriage.
If the attacker closes inside of 20 feet, getting a good shot gets super hard. But stopping the attacker with preventive arrests, forced relocation, or jail time? Far easier to do and make happen.
He’s right, but barely. Saying “she coulda been OK if she had a gun when he came at her” is like saying, “man, that TD coulda been prevented if the defense stopped that running back on 4th down and the 1yd line.”
