I’m not disagreeing with what you say, but Rhimes makes so much money you’d think it wouldn’t be worth her time to try and talk this out with an executive instead of just paying the money.
I mean...we’re talking about an organization that decided to tell about 65-70% of it’s workforce in Florida (the college program) that they no longer had jobs and had less than a week to get the fuck out. Some of them lived out of the country and had no way to get home. Sucked to be them.
The same organization that…
On the one hand, yeah, get what you’re worth, Shonda Rhimes. The exec was obviously being rude. On the other, ehhh. Rich people problems, must be nice, etc.
“One day, I’m gonna die. That’s all there is to it. Hey, it’s too bad, but I’ve got to make room. I’m using a lot of oxygen and such—I think it’s good use of oxygen myself, but of course, I’m a little prejudiced on the matter.” - James Randi
RIP
RIP.
There was probably more that factored into the decision, which was a big one in her life. But it’s not a terrible idea for her to put this story out there as a message to other studio execs - “don’t ever fuck with me over details you think are minor, let alone major, or I will drop your ass.”
As others note, this one hurts.
the super rich shouldn’t feel entitled to free stuff.
There’s a Netflix doc about him called An Honest Liar. It’s very informative and emotional.
Its an employee perk for everyone to get passes. At most her entitlement was trying to replace the ticket with her name on it for her sister (When you request free tickets you have to give names to put on them). As an employee for a company that gives out tickets to amusement parks, it is annoying that if shit happens…
I won’t believe it until I see the body.
James Randi is dead and Peter Popoff is alive and still scamming people out of millions. There really is not justice in the world.
Randi was such a clever and impish man. I enjoy having known about him, and having seen him tear up some charlatans. Rest well, sir.
Leftist conspiracy theories run in two directions:
Nobody looks good in this story. Disney should have just given her another pass, but also, the super rich shouldn’t feel entitled to free stuff.
Yes, she could have afforded the pass, but a good employer treats top performing employees well. It’s just bad management to nickle and dime a good, productive employee, especially when they have other options and can make another company good money.

An interviewer sleeping with the subject is gross and an abuse of their readers’ trust, but the reaction I’ve seen up until now when I finally got some info about what happened made me think he was trying to rape her, or that he knew she was underage (or at least the character told him she was) and did this anyway.
