Just describe to the users what it’s actually doing and they’ll stop using it.

But the US hijacking Microsoft to illicitly acquire European data in open defiance of local laws and sovereignty is of course perfectly innocuous...

There’s one of these for pretty much anything Trump has done this year. It would be funny if it weren’t actually happening...

I don’t think it’s a plan. He’s always doing stupid shit like this to satisfy his petty grudges, and his administration is so corrupt and incompetent that there’s always a scandal or potential scandal.

I’m torn on this one. Security experts have been calling out TikTok for months now, so banning it, or getting it out of Chinese control isn’t unwarranted. However, his insistence that the Treasury gets a piece is pure corruption.

Im fine with limiting China (although this is an extremely ham fisted way of doing it that probably won't survive legal challenges). I do find it a bit rich that they are doing it in the basis of privacy protection though. I’m sure somewhere Ed Snowden is having a good laugh.

Agreed. This is his weekly “grandstand on a Friday for tha clicks” play. And much like the repeated announcement of “we’ll be releasing a beautiful health care plan in the next few days” it will never amount to anything.

There’s literally an entire subreddit about dredging up Trump’s old tweets about Obama that have aged like milk. Check out r/TrumpCriticizesTrump if you need a good laugh/cry.

The true genius of those casinos is that he competed against himself and managed to lose on both fronts. Of course, he was also personally able to clear out a lot of his personal debt through those casinos.  So he basically tanked 2 almost infallable businesses so he could elevate his personal position.  Sound

They’re easy... to start. Winning them? A bit trickier.

Someone going down a list and systematically doing the very things Trump complained about in his Obama-era tweets couldn’t be more effectively hypocritical than Trump.

Or, he’s just doing batshit loony things because that’s all he’s capable of and all he ever does. We don’t need to overthink this.

This might literally just be happening because k-pop teens on TikTok embarrassed him.

Tencent is probably the least worrying Chinese company. Only 8.5% of it is owned by Chinese people, none by the Chinese government, and the rest are foreign investment firms in the US, Europe, Singapore, etc. The majority shareholder isn’t even Chinese, it’s a South African media conglomerate. They’re effectively

Yeah, if anybody’s gonna hand over Americans’ personal data to an out of control surveillance state without legal grounds, oversight, due process, consent, or transparency, then it better be American companies to the American government!

I don’t see any pattern that indicates to me this is part of a plan rather than just him being a power-mad, attention-hungry idiot who keeps getting lucky.

All well and good, for a “So we’re using executive orders for everything now, huh?” definition of well and good.

On January 21, 2021, President Biden needs to roll a wheelbarrow full of Dump’s executive orders out into the Rose Garden and light that shit on fire.

We would be if there weren't so many people in this country who want to suck on it.
