I had a problem with some of the ethics of Borat (watch the documentary Carmen meets Borat, about the exploitation of an Ukranian village by the filmcrew of Borat), and thought Bruno missed its mark: the laughs in the theatre in which i watched were more "ooh-look-those-weird-and-silly-gays" and less the sort of

Books: The Great and Secret Show, Clive Barker. Trippy but great stuff. I am catious about Barker's nature to switch from protagonists every 50 pages: pick one protagonist allready!

You need to watch Starship Troopers a.s.a.p. Great satire of semi-facist military action movies. Also, The Fourth Man is a great one, if you can stomach genital mutilation. Also, see Turkish Delight (Turks Fruit), a very moving but sexual explicit cancer-drama. It was one of the first movies about the dutch sexual

Darnielle has written a book?! Goddamned, under which stone was i living. Darnielle is my god. No… Joss Whedon is my god. No… Joe Dante is my god. No… Ken Russell is my god… No… Joe Lansdale is my god. No… Don Hertzfeldt is my god… No… Ub Iwerks is my god… No, Paul Verhoeven, Andrei Tarkovski, Steven Soderbergh, Akira

Lake of fire is indeed a very, very good movie. I was impressed by the way Tony Kaye didn't judge anyone, ironic when you look at the brim-and-firestone-title. He didn't judge the women who got an abortion, like rightwing nutbags do. He didn't judge right-wing-nutbags, he didn't judge left-wing-nutbags. He paints

I'm not a big fan of Tatum's acting talents. He's okay, nothing special. But damn, that physique of  his…. The eye wants something. So yeah, bring on more Tatum-casting in blockbusters.

That sound absolutely horrihle. It's an combination of castration fear and cannibalism! Yaj, nightmares!

I recommend everyone to watch the documentary Carmen meets Borat. It wil shine a light on the exploitation of poor villagers for the comedy in the first act. That said, even when the manner in which they shot the footage is dubious to say the least, i still think the movie is hilarious.

My stomach got upset when i watched Pink Flamingos. No, it's not the scene you think it is. A shit-eating-grin is okay, but the stuff Edie does with eggs are way too disgusting for me.

Nothing like that in the comic, but we can hope. There is a scene however, were Noah's wife fingers herself while her overbearing mother is in the same room. And after that Noah's wife goes down on Mila Kunis.

There is a big speech from Noah in the comic, so yeah.

Has anyone read the first chapter of the comic Aranofsky made of his script? It's out in Europe already and i've read it. I can't wait for the other chapters and i can't wait for the movie. If I had to describe the style and feel of the comic I would say it's a post-apocalyptic Blade Runner in the ancient past, with
