I don’t get it either.
I don’t get it either.
Agreed, I don’t want to defend him either but a tattoo is just a tattoo and he knows why he has it and what he means to him.
I’ve seen this discussion in places other than Jezebel and it doesn’t seem anything but mean-spirited. I don’t get why everyone is getting so riled up about it.
Agreed. The mean spirited tone of this is also, of course, leading to commenters remarking about how all tattoos are ugly and once again I find myself wondering why this site is encouraging people to shame others for what they choose to do with their own bodies. I don’t want to defend Ben fucking Affleck ever, but on…
I dislike Affleck with all my heart but criticizing his tattoo is something horrible to say, because is something permanent, it’s like saying to some new parents that their new born is horrible or that the puppy or cat you just have is ugly, I don’t see the point in saying those things.
Although I’m loathe to ever have Matt Damon’s phoenixless back, you have to defend your friends. Have I gently mocked my best friend’s sleeve which consists of an owl, a tai chi symbol and her astrological sign? You better believe it. But I will never acknowledge how hideous it is with an outsider.
The sermon takes place after they’ve began their killing spree. It takes place chronologically after they’ve been to court. It’s just the opening scene of the movie, if I remember correctly the movie sort of darts all over the place with the timeline a la Tarantino.
A few things: 1) Pretty sure the opening sermon scene happens AFTER the courthouse scene, timeline-wise. That’s why one says “I do believe the Monsignor’s finally got the point.”
2) Of course he doesn’t recognize the main characters, he was imprisoned before they were old enough to recognize them. They specifically…
“somebody who had a very different anatomy.”
And if he never wants kids, and she’s ok with having children whenever/with whomever the pull out method fails with, then the relationship is dead in the water for reasons beyond preferred contraceptive.
CPCs are baby killers, they generally don’t help mothers once the baby is born.
A few weeks ago I saw this large motor home parked in a business parking lot. It had all the pregnancy testing and counseling stuff in large letters in English and Spanish. I decided to check it out and sure enough it was an anti-choice religious organization. I asked them if they were proud of what they were doing,…
Privately. I know many people that donate to anti-abortion clinics on a regular basis.
Tax-exempt mega churches my friend!
How are these places funded? Mega-churches?
I feel like trademark law would be really useful here. Some group like the National Abortion Federation could create a “seal of approval” for legit operations, and if one of the “crisis centers” puts up a fake seal, sue them for trademark violation.
Given the political climate, they should count themselves lucky it was only paint that they got sprayed with. Many pro-lifers are not so gentle.
What part about it is valid when he doesn’t want kids?
At the beginning we were using latex protection but she has always hated them (which to be fair, same) stating that “they make my vagina hurt,”, and “you are too large already.”
