I’m gonna need some actual examples there, because in my ~30 years of gaming I’ve never experienced even a fraction of the toxicity I do in PVP in any cooperative game mode.

I think when most people say something like “genre-defining” they don’t mean “exclusively the first one ever” or even “the singularly best one”, they simply mean “the most prominent examples”.

Another major issue not covered here is that even if the economic factors are completely ignored, Russia has been dealing with some significant brain drain as millions of educated citizens have been fleeing the country, particularly tech employees, meaning that most of the people who could do this work aren’t sticking…

Honestly? Very few. Destiny 1 definitely had the better armor designs and most of the stuff in Destiny 2 I actually like are just carried over from Destiny 1.

Some of the exotic ornaments, especially the early stuff, are pretty much just recolors which is exactly why they didn’t just let us have carte blanche with using shaders on them.

I mean, you’re not exactly wrong, but that’s kind of another issue entirely: 5 years of game and nothing worth unlocking, that’s kind of sad...and why not just let us use everything by default then?
