It’s definitely not like, ominously disturbing like many of those movies, but it’s still generally an uncomfortable like “someone actually came up with all this? what the fuck is wrong with John Waters?” kind of disturbing lol.

What I mean is: the combat looks like a lot more like a slower paced NMS than it does an ED dogfight, and outside of that the ship seems largely secondary to just traipsing about groundside in various locales which is pretty much the exact opposite of what ED has offered.

Starfield looks like it’s largely going to be NMS with some AAA graphics and an actual story which is all I personally really expect/want out of the game, but based on everything they’ve shown so far I don’t see it overlapping with ED in most regards outside of a few superficial (and not particularly unique)

Starfield is a shooter as well as an RPG, and Bethesda has a serious track record in the genre. Case-in-point: Doom.

Everyone loves to shit on Apple for a lack of real innovation, yet somehow Samsung (their only real competitor in the mobile arena) never seems to get that despite nearly always being later to the party than Apple lol.

it still frustrates me that most companies simply use it, much like they do with other celebrations of pride, freedom, etc to push products.

I’d much rather see a Squee! movie than some half-assed nostalgia grab for Avatar fans lol (let’s be real, a standalone animated movie isn’t enough to expand the story in any meaningful way).

Back in the day, one of the coolest things about Wipeout XL/2097 was that you could put it in a CD player and listen to the soundtrack, so you got a video game AND a soundtrack for the price of one.

They could just lump them together as a single entry.

Wait, are you telling me that Gran Torino wasn’t the Gran Turismo movie?

which features my good sweet perfect boy, Rami Malek

I’m surprised that a couple of cult classics like Pink Flamingos, Requiem for a Dream, pretty much any Takashi Miike horror movie, or the Guinea Pig films (one of which has been investigated several times over the years under the belief that it depicts actual murders AND was supposedly inspiration for a real life

I haven’t even seen it and it’s the most disturbing movie I know of.

Casper, the friendly ghost

It’s insane how many people are complaining about this when it’s basically just a 18,446,744,073,709,550,616 times more focused No Man’s Sky lol.

Not gonna lie, that’d be trash for Diablo, but I’d play the shit out of that as a stand alone game lol.

Hell, I’m sure it goes back further than that, but I didn’t feel like delving into the joined history of goth and necromancers to try to pinpoint exactly when it started lol.

Sure, but that just makes the amount of role-playing elements they did show all that much more standout, which makes it very odd that OP would find more reason to complain about them in this particular example and not less lol.

Uhhhh...what? They literally show off how you can pick one of dozens of backgrounds (ironically showing off one that gives you a bonus to speech checks AND the ability to talk your way out of NPCs fighting you).
