Mario Kart is absolutely an exception and not the rule. It’s a game, where you race, but it’s not a “racing game”, at least not in the same sense as stuff like GT, Forza, or even most (but not all) Need 4 Speeds. It’s kinda how like Smash bros. is a fighting game...but it’s not a “fighting game” (another niche genre

You could finish Gris, the gorgeous platformer from Nomada Studio, in under three hours, and not even leave a dent in your backlog.

A few things:

I don’t remember Sims 3 being quite as aggressively monetized, although I could be wrong since I’ve never been a hardcore sims person and have only really played them in occasional short bursts throughout the decades.

SWTOR did a pretty good (if not somewhat uneven) job of having a single player type story in an MMO, at least at first anyway.

It’s about ethics in Jedi journalism

From what little we’ve seen, yes I’d agree with you that it does seem FAR more grounded/”realistic” than most FF has traditionally been (although not really much more than XV already started), but to me the trailer just felt too much like they went “hey, people like these witcher games, let’s just throw it in a

They stated that Gamepass was already sustainable like 5 million users ago, so I’d imagine by now they’ve already started to see profit and will only see more as those numbers continue to grow.

This is slacking off for them.

What I’m wondering is: why, at this point, is anyone in Hollywood not just constantly operating under the assumption that everyone (except for like Tom Hanks I guess) is a total creep?

You’re right, words do have meaning...unfortunately you’re the one confusing the definition of “niche” with “worthless” or whatever you’re framing my comment as in your head.

Hey, you’re never too old to profit off of people’s unbridled horniness.

I mean, they basically already did most of the groundwork for that in Revenge of the Sith:

Pretty much.

It’s just a very generic “chosen one” storyline. It definitely improves in the later expansions (particularly the latest ones), but the first half of the game’s overall story (pretty much 1.0/pre-ARR to about Heavensward-ish) is just the same tired old story you’ve heard 1000 times before with absolutely nothing new

it’s niche because it’s a racing game.

Players/Accounts and sales aren’t the same thing.

Aren’t they just the same people who made XIV? I mean I like XIV and all that but the story as a whole has been kinda...whatever.

I have very distinct memories of running around as Altair and intentionally gathering as large of a group as possible just so I could go rambo on them all with some sword action lol.

GT hasn’t been a “genuine system seller” since GT3 and the PS2 21 years ago though.
