The old engine was a 6.1L. The 6.4L replaced the 6.1L. They started hellcat as a 6.4L and ended up back down to a 6.2L. Probably more to do with compression ratio and bore/stroke square-ness, rotational mass, etc.

Totally doable. Especially with the 8spd and final drive ratio of the 8spd. SRTs arent speed limited. They are aero limited. Granted, previous SRT havent had enough HP to get that fast stock. But with 707 on tap, and some aero tweaks, could be fairly reasonable to achieve.
No way the charger will get a 6spd. Its built on a different platform than the Challenger. Like you mentioned, its never had one. And SRT engineers have mentioned multiple times that it would not be cost effective to try to make it an option for the Charger/300. If they move the 300/Challenger/Charger to a totally new…
In a sense. Yea. You gotta remember, the 6.1L SRT came out in 2006 and remained the same until 2011. During that time all the other american sport/muscle/pony cars continued to get power bumps yearly. So SRT kept promising to get competitive. Out comes the 392 at 475hp. the 6.1L was 425hp. 5 years of development and…
SRT said in an interview, they will make as many as they can sell. Initial reports were limited production. But they confirmed that is false, and will continue to produce them as long as they are selling.
The fact they are getting 20mpg hwy out of this is pretty impressive. Most positive displacement -blown cars(vs a centri blower) get MPG destroyed. Look at the ZL1 and CTS-V for example. Thank god Chrysler finally got into the 21st century with a real automatic transmission..8spd..bad ass. They even had to modifiy the…

Everyone "Will it road course" "can it turn" "will it corner"...like its that hard or expensive to put sway bars and coilovers on a car. And being that the hellcat weighs over 4400lbs, compared to some of the other cars being tossed out here..z06, Gt500, etc...even at 707hp..they obviously got the combination of…
