No one I know who owns a Tesla really likes driving. If you start with a population who looks at driving as a chore anyway, enabling them to take focus off that task with an autopilot that’s pretty good, almost certainly will result in a bad outcome.

I’ve never been a person to brake-check anyone or any other stupid stuff like that, but I definitely would be tempted. In autopilot systems, you don’t even have to be close for them to react to slowdowns in front of them.

When you remove all the active inputs of driving out of the equation, your mind starts shutting down attentive processing.  So basically, imagine you’re just sitting in the passenger seat on a long car ride.  

As I've posted before, and will post until my thumbs fall off: WHY IS THIS ALLOWED TO BE A THING?!? They regulate what kind of freaking TAILLIGHTS can be on a car but "autopilot" is ok? I predict that soon the most desirable cars will be analog commuters from the 90's.

Just don’t get stranded somewhere off the road... you can’t just fill up batteries with a jerry can, and keep going. You can’t just charge anywhere that is off the beaten path... and sometimes you can’t get a tow truck in there, either.

What a great idea to have an electric off-road vehicle, so that it will always be close to charge stations! Oh wait...

I wouldn’t be surprised of police versions were ungoverned, or governed at a higher speed. I believe Ford Police Interceptors have higher governed top speeds than their civilian counterparts.

Why do automakers feel the need to misuse automotive terms? First they misused the word “coupe”, now they feel the need to make “SUV” meaningless as well?
