They used to have very stringent domestic manufacturing rules with heavy tariffs on cars manufactured abroad. I believe the government began changing them in 2013. Hence the massive change in the AU auto scene.

I wonder if Australia had lax emissions rules for a long time. I can’t imagine this I6 meeting US regs.

If it happened more than 37 times per year on average, I might buy into it being into it being something other than negligent, self-absorbed parents.

Cellphone, workout clothes, lunch ( disposable tupperware to the rescue), glasses, bottled water.

Just another example of racism against 3-pedaled vehicles.

How about DO NOT BE A SHITTY PARENT?

Everyone who starred this comment that claims the average new car weighs less than 3k lbs can go away now and stop pretending that they know the first fucking thing about cars (you too).

DNC - we believe in nationalizing everything, inventing then capitalizing upon grievences that don’t exist and inclusion...unless you’re Bernie Sanders and people want to vote for you.

What a crock - you can’t “rollback” something that didn’t exist.

and in DEM nutcases? nah.

Traction, contact patch, screwed up geometry...

Slowering rarely improves handling if the suspension doesnt move you have no traction.

Sorry, no. I know too much about how suspensions are SUPPOSED to work to think that idiocy looks “hot”.

I’m surely not the only one only doing 3 or so track days a year. For anyone in my shoes, I strongly recommend RS4s (or RS3s or VR1s or similar super 200s). They last a pretty long time on track but are also reasonable to use as sticky summer tires including wet weather for hitting up the Dragon or whatever you want

Durability is the biggest factor for me. A set of Pilot Supersports will last nearly twice as long as a set of stickier Sport Cup 2’s. So instead of saving $400 per set, it’s more like $2200 per set.

Gosh, that was a lot of wordiness. Not sure I can figure out the cheating part.

I also think Kristin’s looking at the original The Fast and the Furious with rose-colored lenses. I remember that among the more serious auto enthusiasts, this movie was widely panned for technical inaccuracies that spawned a thousand memes. We joke about “Danger to Manifold,” “three bottles of NOS,” and having parts

To piggyback on this, I live in Carlisle and that show was utterly disastrous. Between the personal behavior of the attendees and their turning every stretch of road into an impromptu drag strip all weekend, they embodied the stereotypes that everybody held about them.

Appreciate the color your comment adds to Kristin’s story.
