I have sat in on every earnings call listening to what my CEO had to say in Q&A for the last 22 quarters. Never once was their a time where he didn’t take an analyst question.

Bob and weave. Never answer actual questions.

I hope it tanks. Mess with the bull market, get the horns.

Elon’s in way above his head and his shit’s too broke to sell. If his past has any bearing on the future, he should have sold Tesla after the success of the Model S. He’s never gone this far with a company before.

Maybe they are just preparing for a total shutdown.

That’s a terrifying thought.

Agreed. Looking at how the structure just bent like wet noodles in a (I assume) moderate speed collision, my guess is he used exhaust tubing.

I’m going with exhaust tubing.

My first question was whether that’s DOM tubing or schedule 40 pipe.

While my sympathies certainly go to the deceased, and more so his family, I also feel bad for the driver of the Pontiac. That person bears little-to-no responsibility for this, but he or she can’t be feeling good about being involved in an accident that resulted in a fatality. I would certainly be wishing for a second

Two things:

The front and rear of that thing had nowhere near enough reinforcement to call that safe for road use. At most what he built was a track toy, at worst a death trap waiting to happen (which it unfortunately did).

There’s no bracing for the side bars, at all. And there doesn’t appear to be a cross bar behind the seat either, so the 4pt would have to be mounted to the floor...

EDIT: And this doesn’t appear to be DOM roll cage tubing either.

If the article wasn’t titled “Man Dies After Crash In Home Built Honda Civic Based Kart He Named ‘DeathKart’” Then I can guarantee that you would have absolutely ZERO idea what this once was.

...and yet some people say safety inspections are superfluous.

There is a reason why home built roll cages rarely work right... A force in one direct doesn’t mean you’ll be provided with safety in an opposite direction.

Yeah, who doesn’t love a Supra... but the stock wheels need to be the first thing to replace.

Hot take: The original Supra wheels are ugly and cheap looking.

Exactly. A contraption like they have actually creates a tail wind for the skater. They should just put them on a tow rope and haul them up to over 300mph and claim all the worldz rekedz!

Why not just jump out of an airplane with speed skates on and claim that as a speed record too? It’s just as contrived, maybe even a bit less since the airplane only helped you get to the start of your run and not during your “record” run.
