Every paragraph includes the phrase “cost cutting” as justification for killing the innovation and creativity that makes prototype racing cutting edge. And the overarching theme seems to be the desire to take the series back to the great days of yesteryear.

“Moving the bar” is the cornerstone of continued employment for people who already solved the problem.

The takeaway: “If we tear up enough shit, set enough cars on fire, we can get our way!”

Terminally ugly and reliable, and as enjoyable to operate as having a cavity drilled by the dentist.

Except that our present looks a lot more like the Aztecs maximum ugliness and impracticality (huge, ungainly, off-road-incapable, operated with one occupant with seven empty seats...).

“People” smoke, and drink, and do drugs. There are quite a few self-destructive things that “people” do that are a lot more determental to their own well being, and demonstrate that, in general, “people are pretty stupid and make some pretty bad decisions.

GM:
“We must reduce model bloat... ...to make room so we can introduce more crossover and suv models (with no off road ability).”

A new Passport with absolutely no off road capability. Hmmmm.
