So, that’s...three majority woman-led shows that got the ax after being renewed? Is that what I’m reading?

I think you’re correct. Early on Netflix seemed to lean into the image of themselves as a cool alternative to traditional networks where unique art could flourish and series that had been cancelled elsewhere could live on. Turns out that’s only true for about three seasons or so, at which point said art gets the hook

Am I correct in thinking that people have less faith now in Netflix as a safe haven for quality TV?

Can we body-slam some Netflix execs until they un-cancel GLOW?

This Joker-as-Unstoppable-Murder-Horror-Monster that has been going on since Snyder’s Bat-run is the worst, insufferable, least-fun-to-read depiction of the character, and it shows no sign of stopping. Hard pass.

What, you don’t love the Dark Metal universe and the decision to go from “a Batman multiversal crossover” to “holy shit, we need the Batman Who Laughs in every single possible everything because people like it?”

Neil Gaiman summed up the Joker in Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader better than 95% of the reexaminations of him have been.

Ugh. DC is just aces at giving people shit that no one asked for.

Yeah, never think about anything. Just buy or don’t buy. Criticism, critique, even stopping for one moment to say “Does this make sense?”: not even once!

Well it’s Zemeckis so maybe the mouse escapes his PTSD by living in a fantasy world of beautiful dolls and action figures. They'd even be his sized.

This is just An American Pickle with different CGI. They update it every week. The week after that it’ll be Black Christmas.

Spoiler Alert: It’s biggest, broadest Joe Biden you’ve ever seen.

It was going to be A$$holes, but the Showtime bigwigs couldn’t agree on whether the last s should get a dollar sign or not.

This mostly goes to show that you don’t know anything about the production timeline of what you consume. People have been working during the pandemic, but most production has halted. Post production, however, can still be done relatively safely or completely remotely. So if there’s stuff that’s already been shot, it’s

Wrong Ms. Marvel.

I’ve seen backlash against independent directors for taking big-budget film offers before (most recently Chloe Zhao for the Eternals), but this is the first one that has legitimately disappointed me. I think the director is just so good and the concept for the material so creatively bankrupt that I find it difficult

We get to see how Scar getting bullied in 8th grade turned him into a top-notch asshole.

Imagine if Disney had made an adaptation of the vastly superior stage musical instead of rehashing a movie that lives and dies by its gorgeous animation and ability to capture unrealistic facial expressions.

Blech. Who is asking for this shit?

Sufjan’s good and all, but describing a benchmark for the kind of professional success 99.999999% of working musicians only dream of as the most traumatizing experience of his life does not beef up his personal likeability profile.
