Since there’s no community grade anymore I have to ask: Am I alone in thinking this is a strong A?

I swear, if the AV Club doesn’t do at least one “For Our Consideration” about the themes and/or influence of this show, I’ll write the damn thing(s) myself and post them in the comments for some random “Great Job, Internet” article.

Their early work was a little too new wave for Ted’s tastes, but when Sports came out in ‘83, he thinks they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He’s been compared to

You’re not the only one who didn’t know where Wallace was at.

No, just Christopher Walken, who shook hands with Wagner, and saw a horrific vision of what he might do as a 90 year old, and decided to stop him now.

Now playing

The Damn level on NES’s TMNT is still the most infuriating level I ever played, literally days wasted learning precisely where every bomb was located and moving the turtle with accuracy against currents and low buoyancy.

The cabin crew suggested we all go out and club it. I had no option. It was that or one of their B&Bs. I figured it’d be safer on the streets. For the first time ever I saw the Scotch in their natural habitat, and it weren’t pretty. I’d seen them huddling in stations before, being loud but… this time I was

I like songs about Christmas that aren’t actually Christmas songs like Tom Waits Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis, Joni Mitchell’s the River, Christmas TV by Slow Club, etc. I get real damn morose in the winter.

OK, let’s start from the beginning: Gilgamesh, king of Uruk, was a total sleaze and rapist. Adam totally blamed Eve for everything that went down. Amaterasu’s brothers were total creeps, as were most of the Greco-Roman pantheon, a good chunk of the Norse pantheon, several of the Egyptian gods . . . You know what, this

The best part about Coven was Misty Day’s Stevie Nicks infatuation.

the JL cartoon, so never got to experience Lex in that

The rest of us know who Pam Adlon is, dumbass.

Fellow woman here. Just wanted to chime in and say Oskennus’ and Dennis’ interest in direct examples is hardly outrageous or itself sexist. Your headline functions as your thesis; we click on it because we want details. Instead, you waste a lot of space with several paragraphs on the general background of the Batman

That paragraph doesn’t really include any examples, though, just claims. I’m also wondering what it was in the book that led you to that conclusion.

I have a lot of complicated emotion about the Bendis announcement, chief among them that he shouldn’t be allowed to create his own characters or write anyone that doesn’t look like him for at least a year. The man needs to go on probation and earn some trust back.

It’s a continuing source of astonishment how MachineGames were able to perfectly update and honor BJ in these games. If you want BJ to be the jolly Nazi killing guy from the old 90's games, then he’s totally that. If you want to see the powerful cost of him being forced literally and meta-textually to kill Nazis with

1. Nah, it’s clearly a reference to Max and Lucas’ shared love of the filmography of Andrei Tarkovsky.

For reasons I can’t explain I read this in the voice of Dr. Leo Spaceman.

And because they have to deal with centuries of institutionalized sexism and misogyny.

It’s a shame they couldn’t have included some of the Biblical background of the novels instead of wasting screen time on the stupid Feraldo character.
