I strongly dislike it, and have always thought of it, particularly the Bender plot-line of a weaker spin on "Homer Goes to College".

I think The Honking is nicely atmospheric and an interesting exploration of a different genre. Even if the story isn't hilarious, for me it coasts on charm and the fun of the story.
