It feels like a movie that nobody was really thrilled to be making in the first place. At least they can always surpass people’s expectations.

“the series has been rightfully criticized for the ways in which it handles its (very few) characters of color.”
Rightly criticized? I disagree. Her love interest is a black man. One of the most noble characters in the show is a black man who I don’t think was shortchanged at all in terms of story. Is it worth asking…
I’m so glad they didn’t.
I mostly agree, however, from an organizational standpoint, the schism mattered. Would Wanda and Vision have been where they were, resulting in such physical wounding of Vision that seemingly depowered him for the rest of the movie?
I’d say Captain was the one character who didn’t need any more development at this point. He knows his purpose and his place, not to mention did not let past tensions in Civil War come between him and seeking help where needed (Rhodes in this case, then later T’Challa.
I most definitely disagree with those critics. They definitely hit a real great sweet spot with Infinity War where each character got the right amount of screen time, contributed to the story in a meaningful way, and we didn’t linger on one particular set of characters longer than we should have. I can only imagine…
The reaction people (myself included) have had over this one goes to show you that this is a universe filled with characters that actually connect with people and you give a damn about.
I going to go out on a limb here:
I’m intrigued, but cautious. I remember an article a while ago where people were worried that there were reports that the movie wouldn’t really show Venom in it’s full form until near the end of the movie. And that most of the movie is just Tom Hardy fighting most of the time. Since this is only the first trailer, it…
My favorite Hawkeye scene was when The Witch tried to put him under her spell and he put that thing on her head and said something like been there done that.
Unpopular opinion but I actually dig Renner and the character, especially after the mind-control plotline in the first Avengers. Especially his pep-talk part to Scarlet Witch in AoU
Given what happens in the average F&F movie these days, can’t they just do it with the entire F&F cast and make the series a stealth origin story for M.A.S.K. with minimal effort?
Very true, but on the other hand he’s still one of the most skilled directors/editors to ever work in Hollywood. When it comes to pacing and scene composition he has NO wasted moments.
His superhero movie snobbery turned me off of his career. He’s being doing ‘superhero’ shit the entire time. He just doesn’t wear a costume.
I’d really appreciate it if Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham could continue spending their downtime between F&F movies trying to one-up each other making 1am SyFy movies with $100M+ budgets.
Whatever those actors have in common, I assume they share it with Andy Serkis and Alan Tudyk.
If Luke is haunting Ben, I’d want him to be bad mouthing Hux the whole time.
I really, really want to see angry ghost Luke Skywalker return to haunt the crap out of Kylo Ren. Just messing with him every night.
I think Infinity War will not only make more than Black Panther, it’ll be the one superhero movie to rule them all. After that, we’ll start seeing a decline in the genre, as characters die and are replaced. I honestly think we’re at the peak, right now.
A standalone DOOM movie that’s a political thriller and exploring whether he’s a good guy or bad guy? Please fuck off.
