I like Stevenson in the role and the film is kinda fun in how off the chain it is but its a bit off target to call it a ‘good movie’. It looks cheap and nasty in the DTV way that Troma movies often do, rather than modestly budgeted/well-shot yet nasty like the Netflix Punisher or DD. Not all of this can be pinned on

I’m guessing that Waltz will just play Flobeld in his slightly avuncular, quiet, seething anger underneath voiced evil man method? (He is a magnificent actor but slightly pigeonholed)

They will be back, fo sho.

For ref/clarity (minor spoilers sorry)

Yep Scientology is questionable at best but those movies are awesome fun.

Second best DECU movie, talk about damning with faint praise, you know given that WW is actually a bit average (for all its admirable politics and aspects).

Well yeah, but trying to tell a Snyder-verse fan that their film would suck even if all the cool looking stuff in the concept art was it it is pretty tricky, as it doesn’t fit the “WB screwed these guys cus of the illuminati’ narrative they like to wallow in.

Yet you could have swapped all of that and it would still be a dreadful mess of a film.

You you guys not buy actual books or something? I thought this was a myth ;)

Speaking of a massive skeptic prior to watching, Jungle Book was surprisingly good I thought, on that basis alone I think this deserves benefit of doubt.

Aladdin will be, because Guy Ritchie.

So are they going with Zimmers score again or is it just for the trailer to get the juices flowing?

Moonraker is Ok but Spy is a better movie. IMO

IN terms of the age rating, the irony is in the UK this movie got a 15 certificate, the same as Deadpool 1 and 2.

If you mean for having admirable politics (literally high five to the creative team) and a winning chemistry for the two leads, but still aside from that just being a competently directed superhero movie on par with a low-mid level MCU (like Ant Man), rather than the second coming? Then yes ;)

Why not just set it in the future and not be encumbered by historical stuff? That way you can do it super stylized and avoid fatigue about the same plots.

Mamoa seems like a really sweet guy but i’m just not convinced by him as an actor, apart from maybe as Khal Drogo.

The same sort of thinking that says “filling in the blanks so there is no mystery at all” is more interesting than simply leaving some questions unanswered I guess.

Pedants correction sorry, Sabine Wren is actually Mandalorian ;)

OMG, Pascal is amazing. Fantastic news
