Heard this too but I’m happy to give Marvel/Fiege the benefit of the doubt on this one (not least for how off the chain Thor 3 was...that is not a movie made by committee set to lowest common denominator)... Not to beat up on it but you can see in the DCEU what happens when the creative direction is either muddled or

21 and 22 Jump Street are absolutely brilliant and they really should not have been, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is so curiously strange and funny that its hard not to like it...Lord and Miller are great directors IMO.

Good points sir, though I have a feeling the Marvel of 2018 is very different to that of 2014/15 and wouldn’t have fired Wright.

You could reasonably argue to those people that the epic scale and crossover nature requires that people only get limited screen-time and that if you picked up a huge crossover comic it would be the same. But if you find crossover cinematic universes to be tiresome anyway, its a good stick to beat it with.

I took that as Dr Strange seeing only one path to victory and Tony was there, so couldn’t allow him to die.

Love Hardy, I really do and its a great cast....but given the weak, really generic footage shown so far (they seem to have made Venom’s powers quite nebulous) and given that its from the director of Gangster Squad (one of the blandest thrillers in years) I do not have high hopes.

The Ultron pep-talk was terrific, one one the top three scenes in the movie

Vin Diesel discovers mask in secret lab that gives him super powers... Given that F & F films are ‘The Avengers with cars’ already that’s not a huge leap yeah.

Anyone else find F&F 8 to be the weakest in a good while? I liked it just a lot less than 5, 6 or 7.

I had no idea that was digital....wow

I really really hope they don’t make Black Adam a good guy.

Move on Craig...your arc is done and you have nothing left to add. Give us a Hardy or Hiddleston Bond please, something different...perhaps more playful.

Both amazing but Aliens edges it for me.

His mastery of complex but well thought out action hasn’t changed. Avatar may be many things but the action scenes are fantastically well executed and shame many modern director, especially the Snyders and Bays of the world.

See also Mark Whalberg.... Hate superheroes, no problem appearing in shonkily made, incoherent robot smash-em-up movies with 1/10th the heart or invention of Marvel.

I guess that Team arrow having 15,000 people (65% of them using bow and arrows) in it already wasn’t enough. The fact Oli has a secret identity at this point is a miracle. ;)

Yep, the DD and Punisher choreography was so much better. Get the guys who did John Wick in to whip it into shape or something.

David Wenham and the evil Ninja guy were fun in that show. I still think that Jones a is a bit wooden but the show has potential if they can make the fight choreography half decent and give it some wieght.

Packaging Cage with Iron Fist is a sound idea. They could actually use that time to fill the 13 episodes with decent content rather than pointless sub-plot filler like most marvel netflix series (and i’m a fan). Plus packaging up Rand with Cage may smooth off his annoying edges and result in some decent buddy comedy.
