It blows my mind that people just don’t get this. You have to compare your effective tax rate, or your tax due lines. Using refunds to compare the effects of the tax bill by these “news” organizations is ignorant at best, and propaganda at worst.

My tax return is about the same. My tax BILL went down $4,000. You simply can not use the return to guage whether this helped you or not. Compare your tax due from 2017 to 2018 to make a comparison.
Anyone who is using tax RETURNS to gauge whether the tax cut is lowering peoples taxes is going so with bunk and irrelevant information. You need to wait until numbers on peoples TAX BILL comes out. The refunds were going to go down, because the IRS adjusted withholdings.
A lot of generalities here. Boomers are about as misunderstood by Millennials, as Millennials are about boomers. The boomers I know are some of the most hard working and grateful people out there. (With the exception of the extremely left thinking ones) They know and appreciate what their parents sacrificed for this…
The planet has too many people. We need to find a humane way to fix that. I don’t know what the answer is, pay people for becoming sterilized?
Yep, presidential elections usually always come down to middle class moderates in the middle of the country. Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri, etc.
Yeah, except the boomers were the most progressive generation ever, until they weren’t. People get, old, they get smart, and they get moderate. AOC’s leftist type talk is never going to win a major election, and if it does, it will swiftly swing the other way the next midterms. The beauty of this country is that the…
If the Democrats don’t run someone from the Midwest, they apparently learned nothing last election.
2nd greatest dodge of all time.
The Ducks are up there with the Panthers in terms of organ-i-zations that draw the most apathy from every other fan base in the NHL.
Foul ball protocol:
Support is under 50% when you include a tax raise in the plan, near 20% when you include wait lists. The tax increase would be inevitable, the wait lists certainly possible. People like the CONCEPT (hence the 70% number that keeps getting cited by people with no basis in reality), but when it comes to actually putting…
This is the Brietbart of the left. Sensationalism for all!!!!!!
You think people are upset about the potential of the government coming for their guns? Wait until you try and take people’s furnaces and cars. It won’t just be the gun nuts upset, it will be everyone. This is a total pipe dream.
Need a citation. From everything I’ve heard, the numbers are 32 Trillion under medicare for all, 34 without it, but that doesn’t take into consideration the administrative costs to the government, so basically not savings, and likely medicare for all being more expensive. And people overwhelmingly don’t want a tax to…
There should be, is my point, and I think we agree on that. It needs to be easier to become a doctor, we need more practitioners providing basic services etc. That’s a much more politically viable thing to do.
Another thing about “rolling the dice” You don’t just jump into this. Because if it turns out to be a complete disaster, it is nearly impossible to take away once it’s implemented.
While I agree with you on the need to change, we need to get costs under control before we start taxing the living shit out of people to fund some massive national health care plan. A private public system is the way to go, but you can’t hand this over to the government, adding tons of administrative costs before…
The left in this country is going to die on this Medicare for all sword. People don’t want it, unless we can just magically pull 32 trillion dollars out of our fat asses over the next 10 years. You could DOUBLE everyone’s tax collections and there wold still not be enough money to fund this thing. It’s a stupid…
What is medicare for all going to do correct the doctor supply problem perpetuated by the AMA? What is it going to do about lowering malpractice cost? Nothing. Those are your cost control problems. Republicans (for once) tried to address the actual problems when Obamacare what forced down everyone’s throats. They got…
