The visits aren’t, to my recollection, recounted in In Cold Blood, though Capote’s correspondence with Smith is. Fascinating, and of the two, would not have expected Hickock to write this, as Smith was the one who seemed most interested in taking stock of himself. From this very brief excerpt, it’s about what I…
The story was that a cell mate who had been a laborer on the Clutter property told Dick or Perry about the safe while in the slammer.
Oh yeah, they thought there was money and in theory someone could have paid them. But, considering their personalities and how much they told capote, I don’t see them holding that back, especially if it could have saved them from hanging.
Also, yeah I don’t believe Hickok for a second saying someone paid them. They wouldn’t have been as desperate for money on the run.
In Cold Blood is hands down one of my favorite books of all time.
Yeah, anything will fuck your shit up if you take it long enough, unfortunately. Which really sucks if you’re a chronic pain sufferer.
Excedrin did this like a decade ago (??) with Excedrin Migraine. Whatever sells the product, I guess.
Alright, I’ll be the unpopular opinion. I love the show but I am very much in their demographic, white, 40something, has at least one child, middle to upper middle class. It’s a same set up as Parenthood, at least to me. A wannabe comedy that’s filled with real life situations. I look at the TV in that 2 hours and…
That “magic candy” keeps some people withe chronic, debilitating pain functional. People like my dad. He has degenerative disc disease from working construction all his life. He had surgery a few years ago and while it has improved he still needs pain meds to work. He’s two years from retirement and trying to hang on…
Me too!! They weren’t any kind of fun at all. I don’t get it.
This Euphoria thing is BS. or at least it was for me the few times I had a scrpt for Hydrocodone. I took the pills as prescribed, my pain went away, that was that.
There’s more to the story than that: https://ww2.kqed.org/arts/2017/03/13/why-was-that-italian-band-soviet-soviet-deported/
I, myself, am I huge proponent of the theory that, as an older man subject to all the metabolic changes men are subject to as they age, he suffered some sort of injury that, serious or not, hampered his ability to keep up his workout regimen, leading to weight gain.
Not block roads, where there may be a pregnant woman on her way to the hospital- a pregnant woman who winds up dead because someone felt their cause was more important than her life or the life of her child.
Unsure if you know about patient assistance programs? I work in the HIV field and many of our patients access these programs to get free or discounted prescriptions.
Wow.
I know I’ll catch shit for this, but Lena has the ugliest fucking tattoos.
