Califooooooooniaaaaaa
Califooooooooniaaaaaa
ugh they really do. I appreciate that they were the reason I went vegetarian 14 years ago but I've learned too much bad shit about them since. Strike out on your own, James!
Actually, most animals in zoos have longer lifespans than their counterparts in the wild (honestly wasn't sure if you were being serious or joking so). They have no predators and amazing diets and health care.
but this one has Sally Hawkins who's criminally underrated.
You say all the Oscar movies are at TIFF but Telluride has been the better prognosticator of best picture winners recently.
Making the assumption that I don't have a working understanding of the male gaze or of Laura Mulveys essay because I don't dive deep in an internet comment (and I was born after the essay was written!) is complete bullshit. I have a working knowledge of the concept and of its place in the larger context of film and…
I have no idea where any of this is coming from. I made a comment about a specific shot in a specific movie that was not based in my "life experience" in the slightest, but based on my academic experience in years in film theory, film criticism, film genre, etc (not that you need that for my benign observation that…
I did not know this was such a sensitive or controversial topic, and honestly I'm not sure what you're arguing. And I also am not sure why you're using the age card as that lends no extra credence to your argument in the slightest. I may only be in my late 20s but that doesn't mean that I'm automatically wrong. Nor…
ugh that was such a cringey gaffe. I really hope her team does more research now.
The male gaze doesn't have anything to do with whether the movie's biggest fans are male or female. I quite think you've missed the whole idea of it.
I think he technically votes in favor of Paul Ryan's shit which isn't much better, but I won't give Trump the credit as a brainchild for any real legislation in the Senate. And McCain truly seems to hate Trump, but he does unfortunately agree with a lot of the policies.
Tavi Gevinson proves you wrong on that point.
ehhh, as a straight female I'd say not many humans are good at that either.
You're right. I think it's just that people remember Sandy's change more because the movie focused on it more (the camera panning up her body) and that outfit became a big pop culture reference whereas his letterman's sweater is not treated with the same awe. All goes back to that male gaze.
just like "Cheer up Charlie" in Willy Wonka
ALTHOUGH I finally listened to the Nerdist podcast with Emily Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani and Chris and Kumail talk shit on AV Club commenters being terrible trolls when in reality I've found y'all to be one of the nicer corner of the internet. So rude Chris Hardwick (I assume this was a thing people talked about when…
Except Felicity Jones is a good actress so idk that I'd say "not as good at acting"
I didn't see Barry but I did actually like Southside With You more than I expected. Also helps that it's only a single day and not a whole biopic.
I love Matt Smith as an actor and in that role but the writing for so much of his seasons made me hate Moffat and it tainted my opinion of the 11th Doctor unfortunately.
My elementary school was named after a Mr. Earl H. Slaughter and our mascot was the cubs so we were the Slaughter Cubs.
