Underrated by who? I assure you that in 1996, he was on top of the world, and rightfully so. The problem is that since then, he's done pretty much nothing of note except run his mouth about increasingly insane and paranoid bullshit.

I don't know what Music Man's reputation for quality is these days, but that actually sounds like it's on the low side for an artist signature, made-in-the-USA guitar.

I don't hate them, but I don't understand it at all. People have no problem stealing music by the gigabyte, but instead of just using an emulator to play any NES game for free on any device, they're clambering to pay hundreds of dollars for a plastic doohickey that connects to their TV and is limited to 30 games.

Copyright? Trademark? Slits? Slants? It's a fun little game to count all the errors and inconsistencies just in the first paragraph.

Hey, that's about the closest thing we have to journalistic integrity these days.

Oh wow, I didn't know until right now that's who Jonesy is! Over the past couple years, Jonesy's Jukebox has become my only reason to tune into LA terrestrial radio. Sometimes he's hilarious, other times he comes across as barely coherent, but on a good day it's both. Kind of like Ozzy Osborne, but even loopier and

I think it's a scientific fact that this joke cannot get old.

Weird, I also saw The Hunted over the break. I had never heard of it before, but an acquaintance insisted it was a hidden gem. I don't know about that, but it surely contains the most ferocious, realistic, extended knife combat scenes ever committed to film. Unfortunately, the rest of the movie feels like the

What is with those Euro movies? I saw one recently where there were almost a dozen separate "in association with" titles at the beginning, not even at the end. Can't they form some kind of consolidated film financing body just so hapless viewers don't have to sit through that shit?

It's all about the music. I think the last time I stayed until the lights came on was with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. You can fault me for going to see Crystal Skull in the first place, sure, but can you fault me for staying around to hear the glorious, unadulterated score on a bangin' sound

Too soon.

If Starbucks is any indication (and maybe it's not), people not only drink everything cold, that actually seems to be the default. I have to specify now every time that I want HOT espresso, because yes, I actually got a cold shot of espresso a few months ago after failing to indicate my preferred temperature.

OK, so it's the case that there are both double quote and inch mark characters for any given typeface. That was what I didn't understand. I just thought there was a universal double quote character, which is whatever you get when press the double quote key on a keyboard.

I'm looking at double quotes in Times New Roman, Arial, Courier, and a bunch of other typefaces right now, as they appear in MS Word, and they all have radically different styles that vary between highly curved, slightly curved, straight but slanted, straight and unslanted, etc.

I guess I couldn't tell you what the difference between a reboot and a remake is, but Blair Witch is definitely more of a remake than a sequel. Book of Shadows was a sequel.

Not sure what you mean. This is really just a remake of the 1999 original, with some minor sequel aspects to it. If you're talking about a more metafictional idea, then I think that's what Book of Shadows was trying to do. As I recall, the 1999 movie itself (not just the original recovered footage from Heather et

Maybe Werner Herzog if he's in an extremely good mood?

The third most-read article on the AV Club at the moment is about bacon gift tags, and it's from December 9th. Riiiiiiigggggghhhhht.

Yes, Resident Evil and Silent Hill are still the only ones that stand out for me as being non terrible. Silent Hill because it actually captured more than a little of the uniquely unsettling vibe of the game, and Resident Evil pretty much just because of that amazing scene where the Red Queen slices everybody up with
