Meh. Why has there never been a dramatization of Chernobyl? Or has there?

Frankly, I'm surprised that a fairly hipsterish site like the AV Club would espouse the opinion that the remake is better, but I have to agree. It tightens up almost everything about the story, brings a ton of fantastic visual ideas that weren't in the original, and amplifies all the best moments without overreliance…
I don't think most people know the tie-ins exist, so it's hard to imagine that it has much of an impact on the perception of the original. Even if I found out that yeah MacReady was actually a Thing all along, I don't see how it would really affect my love for that movie.
Yes. Also, red spectacles are involved.
Nice. I know that stretch of road extremely well. Assuming you go up highway 81, then you bypass just about everything decent in Cortland (of which there's not much in any case), so yeah, your options are a few fast food places or else gas station Kwik-E-Mart type places.
I was going off the article that pretty clearly states that two people died, so I wasn't aware that they were somehow deaths that didn't really happen.
OK, but what about Ralph?
Damn, I had no idea how low the show had sunk. Characters just die horrible deaths on a regular basis now only to be resurrected the next episode a la Itchy and Scratchy?
Somehow that's even more disturbing, because it sounds almost like extortion. My website posts accurate, publicly-available information about you … unless you pay me not to.
Personally, I would rank only Blair Witch (the original), Paranormal Activity, and Lake Mungo as better than Grave Encounters, as far as found footage horror goes.
I don't understand how it was supposed to generate money, unless there was some type of advertising involved. SOCAN collects from the broadcaster on behalf of the people who own the rights to the songs used in a broadcast. But if Global was the broadcaster and the owner of the rights, then how exactly was Global…
I love The Mothman Prophecies too, and it's surely the best movie ever made about a cryptid, which I assume is why you're bringing it up. It's kind of a shame that it's been all but forgotten even by horror fans. I guess one reason it gets no love might be that it has a uniquely surreal, unsettling vibe, but one…
Despite the roman numeral right in the title, it never occurred to me that it was actually a sequel, let alone that the original would be worth seeking out. How about that.
Interesting, because I've always thought Love Spreads is just about as close to perfection as rock and roll gets. I'm kind of amazed to learn that it's not universally considered their best and best-known song.
It wasn't as good, but REC wasn't that great either. I think we had reached both found footage and zombie overload by 2007, and yet those are still the dominant horror tropes 9 years later.
Upvoted for sheer obscurity and a mention of Helmet.
It's like the legendary Alec Baldwin scene in Glengarry Glen Ross. Al Pacino isn't in attendance at the motivational meeting. Why? Because he's out CLOSING.
Me too. In fact, I think it was the first album I bought, period. The first half of One Hot Minute is not bad at all, and I think most of the hate is just disappointment about its inevitable failure to match Blood Sugar's heights. The second half of One Hot Minute does get awfully strange and off-putting though, I…
I like how the satellites have frozen all of his assets. Satellites: is there anything they can't do?
Why would a door that's on the roof say "Roof Access Only" from the outside? Can that even be true for people who are already on the roof?
