I had a lengthy argument about this elsewhere when I was told that my dislike of Taylor Swift was due to my dislike of pop. I listed lots of pop bands I liked, and none of them were considered "pop" by the opposition, including Pet Shop Boys, FFS.

I grew up in South Africa, and it always amazes me when I hear how many bands that were really big there, Europe, Australia and the UK were just foreign oddities in America. a-ha had a long career outside the US. Robbie Williams had a song on the radio for seemingly the whole of my twenties, but was a one-hit-wonder…
It's a dirigible airship being pulled around on a leash.
I saw it at a screening too, and was under the impresssion going in that it wasn't good (I don't know why) and so it took a few minutes before I thought to even try and view it as good. When I surrendered to it, I loved it. Really just a thoroughly entertaining movie, and Matt Damon is a genuine delight in it.
It hope it consumes enough of her time to stop her producing "music".
Swans' "Real Love" is pretty great, but then it's a Swans record, and those tend to be good. The version of "Stupid Child" is staggering:
I used to really like the old Equalizer theme song too. Ol' Ewar Woowar was so damn cool.
Yeah, which is why I'd give the prize to Miami Vice.
Cheers' theme was great. It's also funny to think of it, but the Simpsons started in the '80s. And Star Trek: The Next Generation. I also really enjoyed the Night Court theme.
The first season of the A-Team was thoroughly self-aware and tongue-in-cheek, and I'd recommend it for a good laugh. After that it was pretty much bollocks, though.
Hunt was selectively misquoted and unfairly dismissed due to the public uproar. You should read further. The dude had been helping women in science for decades.
I laughed really hard at it working its way into one of Randy's Lorde songs.
Do you remember Shirtgate? Timothy Hunt? Justine Sacco? Are you fucking kidding?
Yeah, there's a sort of Jezebelly bitchiness that's crept into this site lately. They're like high schoolers the way they pick someone to hate and then post snidely-written articles about them.
Jobs exercised such intense control over his public image that platitudinous statements like that from him can be read as mere branding exercises. Dude was a monster who'd be the first to visit wrath upon anyone following his advice that presented the slightest perceived threat.
I definitely used to feel similar (and even bought a special KB/M adapter for my PS3 accordingly) but I've discovered that it really depends on the game. 3PSes are generally fine with sticks, and there are a few FPS titles that are optimised well for sticks. Anything realistic/tactical is horrid with sticks, though.
No drone?
Heh, hang around outside some of the trashier pubs in Sydney and you'll see loads of female fistfights.
Thank you! Gender essentialism is pop feminists' cake to both have and eat.
There's some hope with the Loudness Wars specifically because streaming services now normalise by default. That and the CALM act for TV broadcasting means that an agreed alignment level will become standardised and the ony way to stand out will be to reintroduce dynamics.
