Ex-South African here. I was probably in the movie in question with Lokken, if it was the uncertainly-titled Ring of the Nibelungs adaptation by Uli Edel. It's not a good film, but I was quite prominently visible on one of the desktop wallpapers on the official site (I'm on the far left here: http://www.1zoom.net/big2/

As an ex-South African, I have to concur that Jane's accent was good. Most convincing attempt on film yet. And believe me, the rest of Hollywood's attempts are DIRE.

Yeah, i'm anti-war myself, but damn if miltary gear isn't wicked cool.

LFTR (Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors) are not only incredibly safe - they are subcritical and run at atmospheric pressure - but they can be used to destroy our current technologies' most dangerous waste as fuel. They do produce waste, but it's relatively short-lived and harmless compared to uranium reactors.

And, if Anakin built him, why'd he give him what was clearly a serial number for a name?

I still love the solo from Time. Simple, perfect.

Tristessa has a wonderful solo too.

I actually think the fact that almost no-one is playing their own nationality combines really well with the artificiality of the production. Everything is weirdly off.

Welcome to the world of online Social Justice writing!

I completely agree that "Grunge" is a nonsense category for the bands that were pegged with originating it.

I going to throw a wrinkle in this by saying that today's music sounds objectively much worse due to the Loudness War smearing everything to a thin blast of midrange.

Man, great year.

It's lovely. Life of Leisure is an absolutely superb track.

Hitherto and Circling Girl.

Tastes like chicken.

And Swans' Blind Love. The crescendo of crying infants is one of the most unnerving moments in music. That and most of The Drift by Scott Walker.

What's so "French" about Tintin comics? Lack of a muscular manly-man hero?
