Say No to Twee.
"I made a rope out of my clothes and then this fire started."
Matt Elliott's "The Kursk" ( http://www.youtube.com/watc… ) is worth a listen.
I'm pretty sure it's in Wolf, too.
I think it's worth repeating that "alternative" was just a '90s media word that helped give the white-youth-oriented rock that replaced '80s metal credibility. The subcultural landscape of the '80s was far less homogenous than the '90s.
Exactly. What was Alanis Morisette but a simple pop singer with squashed guitars where synths would normally be?
Do women really like Mr Darcy?
"women have somehow dodged a huge bullet and need to be called on their own mirror-image fred durst figures at some point"

I also liked it. I think its bombast is perfectly Bondian.
Chocolate Jesus, by Tom Waits.

Which both,…
It's actually interesting to hear this point of view from a Jewish person. Claims that the Holocaust monopolises genocide sympathies often get made by antisemites trying to seem progressive, or are at least tarred with that brush.
Odd, I thought that was Stalin.
No "Jism", by Tindersticks? They make the line "I'll overflow your every inlet" sound classy.
