My first impression is that the slaves of Yunkai had been somehow lobotomised and freeing them was dooming them.

Thanks, Stalin!

A lot of writing pads came with a loose sheet of darkly lined card you could use as a guide through the paper.

Hands up if you immediately Ctrl+Fed "smoke".

He wouldn't have to ride it.

This is too good to be relegated to the second page.

"My car go vroom loud." is magnificent.

Try Swans' Cop/Young God+Greed/Holy Money compilation.

I think "boy" is interchangeable with "son" in this case.

Mediaeval Europe was violently antisemitic.

I think STP were just victims of a post-80s-metal tone deaf critical lumping of all guitar music into a spurious "grunge" category.

Liked for "hunger dunger dang".

1080p24 is the resolution and framerate. 1920x1080 pixels at the cinema standard of 24 frames per second (actually 23.976, but don't worry).

I would also prefer a single-disc edition of any given film if it's at a lower price. And dear Satan do I hate non-standard packaging.

Just get a foreign player. The output signal isn't region-coded, and a lot of cheap, decent players have selectable voltage.

I cannot stand dubs. They always remove so much of the acting character. Japanese voice acting is so expressive. No-one could outdo, for instance, the original voice of Mugen in Samurai Champloo.

Whaa? The vast majority of BDs are region free (I order a lot from the States), and they're all 1080p24 (or 1080i50 if a European TV show). DVD is always region locked and is in PAL or NTSC format. Blu-ray is the first truly international video standard.

As somebody who got into Blu-ray early, it helps having a DVD around to take to the houses of people who don't have a BD player. A lot of the dual-format releases are at standard prices, so I don't find them too much of a problem.

Except they're both great bands and fun to listen to. So yes, you are affecting pretension by undue disdain.

Actually, in the age of ubiquitous smartphones, I'm sort of surprised anyone does.
