I went to a concert with a girlfriend in Melbourne, not knowing much beyond that "Map of Tasmania" song which I thought was funny because I like hairy pussies.

Check out Garcia's SPC-ECO thing. Very nice.

Erik, you say that like Australia isn't populated by darro bogans.

This is an American perspective. In the commonwealth countries "cunt" is as gender-neutral an insult as "arsehole". In Australia and the UK (especially Scotland) it's a term of affection, like "guys": "you cunts going to join me for a drink?"

That's great to know. Similarly, "Le the Right One In" features two sets of subs, one from the dub and a better set from the Theatrical.

I actually agree. Part of the reason I hate dubs is because it's possible to read literal translations of Japanese dialogue, but it sounds appalling in English.

I'm waiting for Spirited Away on Blu-ray. Does the US DVD subtitle "gods" as "spirits"? That annoyed me when I saw the dub.

Same.

I'm a non-military non-American guy with an interest in military stuff, and when I saw the UCP start rolling out I could not believe my eyes. Where on Earth is blue-grey a dominant colour? Not only was the colour just stupid, but it was apparent immediately that there was no disruptive effect in the pattern. MultiCam

This sounds awfully like Cocteau Twins, and is on Bella Union, to boot.

Bear in mind he's Jewish and imitating someone Arabic. Sort of a recipe for anger, there.

Apparently he's being accused of ethnic stereotyping for this one.

How awful for you.

Thanks for this. Due to his easily recognisable work with Burton, I tended to write him off as a gimmick composer.

I find it distracting. His signature choral sound and galloping rhythms can take me right out of a movie, much like a Wilhelm scream.

Okay, it feels dated compared to Savage Steve Holland films.

Interesting! I thought a lot of it just seemed too good. Clearly he has the gift.
