I work in that field, and I have seen the need for emotional support first hand. The concerns I've heard from frightened people are understandable ("are my parents going to be deported?" "is my LGBT relative going to be safe in school?" "Do the people here not want me here? Do other people hate me?"). These questions

It was definitely hinted at since the first episode, but I don't think it was 100% obvious. I was prepared for it to go either way (which, to me, is a sign of a good show).

I don't think he's saying they're not struggling or not allowed to feel bad about their struggles, but rather making fun of her for asking HIM if he understood what oppression feels like. Of course he does, and that was the point of the sketch—he and Chris Rock aren't surprised by the outcome because they've seen this

A Face in The Crowd is one of my favorite political films. I saw it for the first time towards the end of the second term of George W. Bush, and it reminded me so much of various radio and TV pundits that I thought it was amazingly prescient—in the past year I've realized it's way, WAY more prescient than I ever

Ann Navarro is Republican, though.

Oh man, I love this movie and I love the music in it even more. "Back Door Lover" was a regular in my rotation in college.

Huh, I never played Jack the Ripper, but Dracula definitely had images in it that were supposed to be "scary."

Around the same time as The Rats I remember there being a text-based vampire game that I loved. It might have just been called "Dracula" but I can't remember. Very atmospheric and creepy, at least to me as a child.

I'm going with multiple models over multiple timelines. It just makes more sense to me.

Damn. He was a staple comic I grew up with, and he was too young to go. That's not right!

Out of curiosity, why did it surprise you? It surprised me because although I love the character of Jessica Jones, I didn't care for Krysten Ritter as an actress. But IMO she stepped up and I like her on the show. Maybe it's just that she hadn't gotten a good vehicle before, I'm not sure.

Just curious, why did you hate her? I strongly disliked Jurassic World, but that's the only performance of hers I can think of that I legitimately disliked. Even in The Help, which I hated, I thought she was good.

>Male directors ruined the show

I'll do you one better, I'm older than that and I still haven't had one. I've had a quarter pounder with cheese, though.

Oh man, "Maps" always gets me, too. I put that on a lot of mixes when I was in college. Other songs that come to mind:
