These are fantastic observations.
These are fantastic observations.
The visuals of episode 3 were some of the most astonishing I've ever seen, but episode 4 genuinely felt like a classic Twin Peaks episode. The humor, the heart—that stuff was largely missing from the first three, and I think it's safe to say that was intentional. Lynch and Frost seem to be slowly building back up Twin…
Well now I can't enjoy the movie!
Late to the party on this (again)
Not a spectacular episode, but that ending…whoa. I did not see that coming. We haven't seen a lot of *anger* in Jimmy, and man did Odenkirk sell it.
I have a theory on this: BOB is bored. For 25 years there was no struggle for him. His host was an empty vessel and he got to do whatever he wanted. Maybe the thrill wore off for him a bit.
I've seen the ultimate cut of BvS like 6 times. I love it and MoS. Both have issues but I just love the intent behind them even when they don't work, and I like in this day and age of assembly-line blockbusters there's superhero directors like James Gunn and yes, Zach Snyder, who have an actual aesthetic and voice…
What an absolute tragedy. I can't imagine anything worse than the death of a child. I hope, for once in human history, the internet can be cool about this, because surely his family doesn't need anything to make the situation worse.
Seeing this out of context is not ideal. The whole season up until that point has Andy and Lucy constantly talking about how amazing their son is. And then the build up amounts to this insane speech by Michael Cera doing a bad Marlon Brando impression. I loved it.
Except the exact opposite of what you just said
I'll say this: if people are on the fence, they should keep watching. Episode 4 feels like a classic Twin Peaks episode in terms of tone. I think Lynch is slowly building to the Twin Peaks people know and love, right down to the way the musical themes are basically nonexistent in the first episode, but creep in more…
Yeah, my theory is that the black and white intro is the future. They're clearly playing with time this season, and I'm anticipating that we won't see the significance of it until maybe the penultimate episode of the season.
Nooo! Now you can see all my awful opinions on pop culture that I'm too ashamed to share with the cool kids at AVC!
After rewatching today, I like that theory. I could see a scenario where she's dedicated part of her life to finding Cooper.
Oh I feel pretty confident he's Michael Cera's character.
Wait'll you see episode 3
Yeah…I didn't like it then, either.
-Was NOT expecting the black and white opening. Holy cow. Also…what?!
UPDATE: JUST WATCHED PART ONE. IT WAS WEIRD AND AMAZING. WHOA.
Disturbingly few people are talking about Twin Peaks in this thread. I'm hyped beyond belief. 18 hours of Lynch-directed Twin Peaks is happening in a matter of hours!
There's a lot to love about post-Laura Palmer Twin Peaks. You can certainly skip past all of the Motorcycle of Love adventures and the useless Ben Horne civil war subplot, but the show is still a lot of fun. The last six episodes are as good as the show ever was, and the finale is a masterwork. So it's worth sticking…
