Well it's not like DC or Marvel calls up Lorne Michaels and says, "Hey, can you do a sketch about our upcoming movie that doesn't make fun of it? Just kind of makes it look awesome?" If the writers have an idea for a sketch, they do it. And occasionally NBC forces them to shove in a reference to like, Ritz crackers or

I couldn't BELIEVE Gal Gadot didn't have a cameo. I mean, it's highly likely that she's off promoting the movie somewhere else, but it the movie is called Wonder Woman, after all.

Huh. Comedy is so subjective. I thought this was thoroughly bland from beginning to end. The police surveillance sketch was funny, the Carmen Sandiego sketch was dead-on (though to me it also smacked slightly of, "Hey, Comedy Bang Bang has had the Chief Gumshoe character on recently, *we* should do something like

But he's not a lead on THIS show. I think that's the issue for me.

It also bugged me a LITTLE to see such a big incident occur at Pollos. I know that was the whole point—to see how Fring would react, and it was perfect—but I got the sense that up until Walt blew up Fring's operation that his business was *flawless.* Not one spot on his record. So for this incident to happen with

Eh, don't be so sure. Remember how swept up she got in Jimmy's scams at the beginning of Season 2? She loves it as much as Jimmy does, she just has more self control.

Late to the party on this one, but I gotta say…I feel mixed on this one. It felt like two episodes mashed into one. I was really enjoying watching Better Call Saul develop on its own, with maybe a minor BB callback here and there. Now we're in full-on BB-tie-in mode, and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. There are people who say Super Mario Kart is still the best one, and those people are a complete and utter mystery to me.

I found the advertising for SS and now GotG2 absolutely exhausting. People are excited about Wonder Woman but not irritated with the level of media saturation. I think that's a good thing.

I can't tell if this is a bit. The trailers are everywhere, posters everywhere, my damn soda cans have Wonder Woman on them. I feel like they're advertising it just fine.

I listened to the first season like four times, and the second is just as good. The sheer volume of bits and heightening is astonishing every time. It's a weirdly relistenable show.

It's pretty incredible. I think my biggest laugh was Bill Cravey's sudden outrage at the kids on the locker room beat. "Listen, if you're going to investigate me, you can FUCK OFF!"
That and the genius Ladysmith Black Mumbaso interview.

I listen to A LOT of comedy podcasts. And Teacher's Lounge may be the funniest comedy podcast ever recorded.

Now, I'm no fan of this show, but that is a completely ridiculous complaint.

I commented too late last week to be noticed so: thank you, Donna, for referencing my comment with such reverence in your review last week. That was super cool.

Bankrupt is a stupidly under-rated album. Not a bad song on that thing.

"An astute reader last week (and now I can’t find the comment among the thousands, so please speak up and take your bow) noted that the characters on this show construct perfect crimes—only to be undone because someone else knows them too well."

I commented on this last season, but the biggest reason why we hate Chuck is because he *refused* to believe that it was possible for him to have made a mistake. There was never a moment where he thought he did something wrong. And Chuck was right! But who THINKS like that? A real butthole, that's who.

Hey, also? A new season means more Donna Bowman pieces! Your reviews present essential insights into the show, and they're just always fun to read, even when I disagree. So yay!

The burglary angle doesn't really work because surely Jimmy could just testify that he had to break in to check on his mentally unstable and physically impaired brother, who often changes the locks and refuses help.
