I like Man of Steel and the extended cut of Batman v Superman quite a bit. They're ambitious, they look amazing, the scores are fantastic, and they have a distinct tone and style. But it's true that none of these virtues have anything to do with *character.* And I think the problem is not Snyder—it's Goyer. It's quite…
The props got me.
They've already got two jokes, "liberal snowflakes" and "cuck," I'm sure they can pad that out to make a 20 minute set.
This is what I'm saying.
I think a Zack Snyder movie with a good script could be a wonderful thing. As it stands, that hasn't happened yet.
It wouldn't do a thing. Trump and his base already hate the "liberal media and Hollywood elite" so this would be a wake-up call to absolutely no one. There aren't a lot of hardcore Trump supporters who are going to be in any way affected by the cancellation of an awards ceremony.
Too far
This administration has made me realize that if you're angry at too many things the anger ends up collapsing into a ball of sadness in your soul.
I like the prequels.
I like Jake Lloyd in the prequels.
THIS IS AMERICA AND I CAN'T HELP WHAT MY STUPID BRAIN LIKES
I feel like bad people shouldn't be allowed to watch good movies.
"You see they're not REAL fish, Mr. Trump. You can tap on the TV screen and they won't even react."
Well at least……………………………………..?
That is true!
No, I just re-read it. They're only at that school for a couple weeks, tops.
Nero: Ricky Gervais or Andy Daly.
Carmelita: The snottiest British kid available
Esmé: Alison Brie
Jerome: Good call on PFT. I support this decision.
Hector: Scott Glenn
Man. I just can't understand the so-so grades on the last two episodes. They are by far the best of the show, in my opinion. The tone has become clearer, the background mysteries start to show their significance, the kids get to display their talent, and how anyone couldn't love that last song is beyond me. I like…
Oh me too! Love that bit. I wonder how the show will visualize stuff like that. I commented last week that I think it's good the first season is establishing a somewhat cartoonish nature to the action/physics because there's a lot more of it in books 5-13.
ASOUE has tighter plotting than the last season of Sherlock, and as a fan of both properties I find that telling.
That's really a throughline for the series. Olaf becomes more frightening because of the sense of dread that they will inevitably face him again. Snicket is constantly referencing that terrible things will happen if the reader keeps reading.
