I'm the only male in the office where I work (other than the doctors). I work with all white women; all voted for Trump or didn't vote at all. So I'm just keeping my trap shut.

It struck me that Trump's rise to power is actually way more unrealistic than Palpatine's rise to power, which is literally fictional.

I work for a doctor who, I thought, was a kind, loving, compassionate person. Then I come into work to find out he supports Trump; he was ecstatic about the win. I remembered: oh, right. He's rich. And white.

I didn't realize how much of an echo chamber i'd been a part of until the results of this thing. The right had never doubted that Trump would win, because all their preferred media outlets and personalities told them it was a foregone conclusion. Well. So did we.
