They might do that by the end of the series or in the Defenders. He's still just a guy who's been back in society for a week or two after growing up in a totally different world for most of his life.
The show is for a general audience, not just the small number of people who already identify as "Iron Fist fans."

Most of your complaints about Danny "breaking the law" can easily be justified as self defense and therefore legal. Breaking into his own home that was stolen from him, same thing.
