I’m trying to wrap my mind around your responding that it does not warrant a response. I’m curious - it was obviously meant to be a joke, did I inadvertently offend anyone?

Thanks. I’m not sure how biased / unbiased is the poll, but I find it believable that “Almost 80 per cent believed the first referendum in December should ask if the flag should change rather than waiting to pit the current flag against an alternative in a second referendum next March.”

OK, you confused me by typing methane above - guess that’s just a typo (or auto-correct). BTW methane has no smell, the smell of fart is from hydrogen sulfide (among other things, I guess).

That does seem backwards. Do you have a source that says >70% of the country doesn’t want to change?

That’s a green tentacle. You’re not fooling anyone by calling it a fern. And it has my vote. Cthulhu forever!

Like I said, I’m no expert :) I didn’t realize liquid hydrogen has a density of only 71g/L - that’s crazy! Not sure why we’re comparing methane anyway, but it’s fascinating and I’m learning a lot.

OK, that made me laugh. Alternative : “Designed in Wales, Made in China”?

Kanji is definitely not an alphabet, complex or otherwise, though Japanese does have an alphabet component (Hiragana / Katakana).

Depends on whether one is an Apple user, or an Apple fan boy.

We liked the name Alphabet because it means a collection of letters that represent language, one of humanity’s most important innovations

Agree about methanol being safer and easier to transport / use. Wikipedia disagrees on methane having higher energy density (per unit mass) than hydrogen - but I’m not knowledgeable. Clarify?

I can give you the Wikipedia answer, but I don’t think that’s what you’re asking for. Do you mean polylactic acid is a hydrocarbon? I thought that in general use, hydrocarbon refers more to petrochemical compounds, but since I’m the one who started being pedantic, I’m in no position to complain :)

That is a very good question. Some people would drink stuff like vodka and soy sauce though, there’s no accounting for taste.

Just to be pedantic, you can make plastic out of polylactic acid (e.g. from corn starch).

I’d just skip all the intermediate steps and add vodka to it.

Curious - why are a lot of them changing hands if it is a solid headphone amp? Switching to a more portable amp? Or upgrading? If upgrading, to what?

oops, posted to wrong thread. Dang phone...

Agree with that. I think Toyota is (will be?) selling the Mirai. The last time I read about it, Toyota is also offering free fuel, because there’s hardly any place you can buy hydrogen to fuel it.

Now that’s an image that’s going to haunt my dreams tonight!
